Visiting the suspension bridge in Edmonton's River Valley is a must for both locals and tourists. Constructed in 2010, this picturesque bridge connects several scenic trails ideal for walking and cycling. I recommend visiting early in the morning to enjoy the cooler temperatures and fewer crowds, enhancing the peaceful ambiance.

The trails are well-maintained and pet-friendly, with nearby off-leash areas where dogs can roam freely. For those seeking a physical challenge, the nearby Wolf Willow Stairs offer a rewarding climb with fantastic views of the North Saskatchewan River.

Parking can be limited, so an early start is advisable. Note that there are no public washrooms available, so plan accordingly. While swimming is not recommended due to strong currents, boating is a popular activity—just ensure to follow safety guidelines and wear a life jacket.

Whether you are up for a tranquil walk, a bike ride, or a vigorous stair climb, this bridge and its surrounding areas are perfect for an escape into nature any time of the year. Remember to respect the natural environment to keep it pristine for future visitors.

A serene gem in the city, this spot promises beautiful views and a variety of activities!

Beautiful view year round. Beautiful walk between the two foot bridge. There is dog park too short distance from this bridge. Me and my family go for a long walk making a big lop which covers both bridges. Near both bridges there are picnic spots at the bank of river. Every season has its own beauty in this area. Swimming is not recommended in this river but lots of people do boating in this area

Beautifully designed bridge that is a pleasure to walk across. It’s unique design is eye catching. As a foot bridge it has lots of space. There is designated seating areas on the bridge that are nice to sit at and enjoy the views. This is an important connector river bridge as part of the larger river valley trail system. My advice is to get out and walk to this bridge and enjoy it.

I absolutely love the Fort Edmonton Footbridge. It's really pesceful around there, there's a great view of the river, and you just feel surrounded by nature (except for seeing some house sin the background). There's lots of trails as well that connect to other parts of the river, and you can get really close to the river too.
I really enjoy sitting in the rocks next to the river while listening to the sounds of the water move and the sounds of nature. It's really calming and relaxing. I even saw a beaver before in the river!

Decided to explore a new part of the city, very nice area and also very clean, did not notice any litter at all. Very close to Fort Edm. Park. There is a hidden little parking area ( only big enough for maybe 6 or 7 vehicles) but there are a-lot of nice walking/biking paths. The bridge is pretty nice and allows for some great photos.

Great place for biking and walking. This trail is connected to Terwillegar Footbridge. You can take the off road trail and the other is a pavement.More or less 200 meters to Wolf Willow Staircase.
