Un hôtel très beau, sauf que c'était TRÈS chaud, et l'air conditionnant a requis le recommencement chaque quatre heurs, alors c'était toujours le cas que je me réveille très chaud dans le milieu du nuit

This location is perfect for walking to anything in St.John’s. There is a grocery store, Quidi Vidi, cafe’s and all the restaurants of Duckworth and Water St. You can eat out or bring in or make your own. The kitchen has all utensils, pots, pans serving dishes and glasses, extra large fridge/freezer at your disposal. The owners are quick to respond and very helpful with places to go or see. This is a quiet neighbourhood and we could sit outside at the front door at the little table and chair. This home is quite large and it would be a great place for a large family traveling together with so many rooms.

We stayed four nights at the Munroe House. The pictures do not do justice to this beautiful and historic home. The rooms are incredibly spacious (ours included a couch, sitting area and huge dining room table) and despite being close to everything, it was perfectly quiet. Our host, Mark, was amazing. We were staying at two different guest houses during our stay, and needed to drop our bags early, and then leave them for late check out. Mark accommodated every need. There is no breakfast served, but there is a grocery store within a 5-min walk of the house (as well as several excellent cafes), and you're welcome to use the double-sized fridge in the kitchen to store your food and drinks (there is also a bar fridge in the room). Tip: we saved $ by buying breakfast and lunch supplies at the grocery store and storing them in the fridge. You can walk anywhere from here. We hiked to Signal Hill, Quidi Vidi, Water Street, Gower Street, Duckworth Street, the Rooms, the Folk Festival in Bannerman Park and much more from here. Would definitely stay there again.

We spent two days at Monroe House after arriving in Newfoundland for a 2 week roadtrip.|Check-in was easy. The house is lovely and has the look and feel of a true heritage property. The rooms are spacious, and well equipped. There 2 large rooms that guests can use to relax and/or eating. |Well located for exploring St Johns and the surrounding area. |The only drawback, was having to go out for breakfast, but there is a decent breakfast restaurant within 100 yards.|Very good value for money.

Beautiful 3 story historic home. Rooms are very nice and well appointed furniture/decor. Access to a full kitchen with appliances and dining necessities. No meals are served but guests have full access to all the meal paraphernalia and a gorgeous dining room. Close to Water Street harbour, shopping, and banks for currency exchange. Definitely recommend.

We were the only people staying at Monroe House for the three nights we were there. This is a very beautiful house with really nicely appointed rooms. If you don't care that much about the amenities that come from a more conventional hotel, this is a great place. There are no staff on the premises most of the time; there is no housekeeping service. There is a large kitchen with a huge fridge and freezer, two microwaves, a coffee machine and lots of plates and cutlery if you want to make your own meals. There is a very nice little coffee place around the corner for breakfast and the Sheritan is also right next door if you want something more elaborate. The location is great: walking distances are fifteen minutes to downtown, twenty minutes to The Rooms; half an hour to Quidi Vidi. We also need to note that, while we didn't see much of the folks running the place, Eric was readily available by text and when Bonnie was there on our second morning, the weather was terrible (wind rain and snow) so Bonnie drove us to The Rooms. That was very much appreciated and very fine service!

We found this Guest House and are so happy we did! It is close to the airport and after a long flight from Portland Oregon, we were happy for that! Eric was the host and provided all the needed information before we arrived. We were exhausted but were astonished by the beauty of the house. I wish we had booked more nights for sure! Close in but far enough that there wasn't noise and traffic. We loved it! Don't hesitate to book for your adventure in Newfoundland.
