Western Budget Motel #1 Grande Prairie - Grande Prairie, Alberta

We came from Edmonton to visit family and thought the western budget hotel would be a good idea. For $130 a night ( we booked 2 nights and left after the first) The kitchen area (table and chairs) had a weird white substabce on the seat and the floor beneath it; the beds are horrible, felt like sleeping on a solid piece of wood and to top it off we were expecting a continental breakfast however all there is coffee, various breads to toast and horrible muffins. The entry way is not even secured as you do not need your key card to enter the building and we got a call around 3:30 AM for a wake up call which we did not ask for! Also no microwave in the suites.

For $130 - you get loud noisy room with a fridge that vibrates all night. A fireplace that turns on and off all night as it's used as their heater. Random wake up calls at 330am from the front desk that you didn't ask for. The room smelled musty, stained floors that are also starting to come apart and the beds are not comfortable - very hard and stiff.

This hotel was very accommodating, we stayed there due to work. The kitchenette we had was newly renovated, clean, comfy bed, the newer juccuzzi was great to have in the room also. The housekeepers are very amazing, friendly and hard workers, they make sure you have everything you need. The breakfast is great (awesome omelets). Front desk staff are very friendly and also make sure you have everything you need. The manager is great, she does a great job at making your stay comfortable. I would recommend this hotel, and|we definately will be back if in Grande Prairie again.|The only thing I wish, was if the pool was open (it was under maintenance).

Service is great! Good clean rooms, food is delicious in the kitchen. As hotels go I prefer this place to the holiday inn. Company paid room but I’d recommend to anyone. I also would pay for the room which incidentally is reasonably priced. Absolutely great location none of the local riff raff making me feel unsafe outside. I really love the fireplaces in the rooms.

Big room with a fireplace. It's in decent shape, with a restaurant right beside it (never ate there). Fridge with stove and sink. No microwave. And GP is a small city, but if you wanna walk somewhere to get some air... the parking lot is your only option.... I didn't pay for the room since I'm here for work, so I dont know if it's worth the price.

The jet tubs are nice and big and the room was quiet and comfortable. It was disappointing that they didn't serve hot breakfast on the weekend and they did not m offer a lot for a gluten free alternative. The staff was friendly, and the parking was convenient.

As good as any cheap hotel. Only complaints I had were about the front desk staff and laundry service.

The laundry is $2.50 for each wash and each dry. It has 100 plus rooms and doesn't have a change machine or carry much change at the front desk.

The front desk lady was completely unable to follow my request for change. I asked 4x for 8$ in loonies and $4 in quarters.

She couldn't follow even as I broke it down to the point I gave up and walked away.
