This was an wonderful place - peaceful- beautiful - private- safe - and friendly. The staff were interactive and very professional, balanced with friendly and helpful. The accommodations are top notch - Comfortable beds, welcoming decor, ample space (we stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin) well equipped kitchen ready for a chef and hungry folk (the small touches meant alot), and a fantastic porch to watch the night sky go by. It is as it is shown - clean, neat, tidy - an unexpected find. Some helpful hints - The dinner in the dinning room is excellent - expect a slow pace with a delicious result - The breakfast is Chef's choice - and very tasty - Remember to bring all you need if you are using the kitchen - There are coffee pods - (we brought our AreoPress), and tea but for the rest you need to bring what you need - Ice is recommended to bring - (This place certainly called for a lovely slow beverage!) The tub takes forever to fill - but the hot water tank seems to provide! The fire place is so lovely. Take your time to wander the grounds - we had rain- but they looked lovely- and if it wasn't raining we would have used the fire pit! Enjoy!

A hidden gem that you MUST visit for a romantic weekend!

After other long-weekend plans that myself and my girlfriend had originally made to head out of province had fallen through, I wanted to find a quiet, romantic location to get away for a weekend with her before winter. We were not disappointed!

Nestled about 15 minutes south of Rocky Mountain House, right by the namesake Prairie Creek, is the Prairie Creek Inn.

The location: After you first pull up to the Inn's welcome sign at the otherwise unassuming location, you drive onto a short, winding gravel road that almost teleports you to another world before you even pull up to the main Inn building (where there is ample parking). When you park and finally step out of your car, you feel like you are in a Hallmark Christmas movie as the main building is very endearing, and the property is surrounded by trees making it extra cozy and creating positive feelings before you even go inside. Checking in was quick and easy and the front desk was so friendly. We stayed in the Woodlands Suite, and the room was stunning and well-kept. It had a comfy bed, it had a gas fireplace that kept the room nice and warm, and it also had tons of amenities which definitely set the right mood right out of the gate. There are many other themed room and cabin options there sure to meet your specific getaway needs and there are even board games, books, and movies that you can borrow from the front lobby depending on the type of getaway you want. A plus is also that it isn't super busy with tons of traffic so it makes you feel like the getaway is YOUR getaway tailored just for you. After exploring town on the first day there, we spent a couple of hours walking around the property on the second day and enjoyed sitting by the Prairie Creek with the crisp air simply adding to the ambience.

The food: The breakfasts (you do have to pre-pay and also note allergens when reserving your stay so they can prepare) were very tasty and the portions just right. I ate Croissant French Toast, German Pancakes, and Waffles with Ham respectively on the three mornings I had breakfast there. They also do provide an option to have breakfast delivered to your room at a small fee if you don't want to leave your room in the morning, which is a nice option. The service for breakfast was excellent and the breakfasts always started the day off on the right foot. Beyond that, they also did an amazing job accommodating a nut/egg allergy.

For dinner, we made reservations to the Heartstone Restaurant on site and it was incredible. I had the bacon wrapped filet mignon on the first day and a chicken dish on the second day and wow, they were both amazing. You could tell with both the breakfasts and the dinners that the meats, produce, and eggs used were all farm fresh as it was all next level in flavor. The dessert was also very flavorful, but not heavy. Once again, they also did a fantastic job accommodating allergies without sacrificing portions or flavor. If there is any downside, it is that the restaurant is only open from Wednesday to Saturday, so if you are staying over an entire weekend and want a meal on the days that it is closed, you will have to do the 15 minute drive off-site to Rocky Mountain House like we did when we went to Boston Pizza in town on Sunday evening.

The final verdict: Both myself and my girlfriend had an amazing time and I would recommend the Prairie Creek Inn to any couple looking for a romantic weekend getaway at a place that isn't as loaded with tourists like places in Canmore or Banff. Both of us already miss being at the Prairie Creek Inn and want to go back, and that says a lot. Go there now, what are you waiting for!

We had the opportunity to celebrate my husband's 50th bday here with 20 of our closest friends. The staff were wonderful to work with in organizing and the firepits were perfect spot for hanging out.
The chef prepared a 3 course meal for us and we even had our own semi-private space!
Will definitely be recommending this place and hope to come back soon!

Underwhelmed - based on a significant celebration meal - my experience was mediocre at best- not 5 star as had been in previous visit 2018. Somewhat attentive service paired with decent meal quality landed on high end restaurant pricing .

This is a Beautiful Inn, Amazing Staff, Unbelievable Food, the rooms are set up so you have a great deal of Privacy and Peace. A Beautiful Trout Creek runs around the edge of the property and the Fishing is Good.
The only Negative thing about our stay was the last night, the boiler quit so no hot water for the evening. The Host came around to apologize and let us know, the plumber was call and on the way. Other that that it was an Awesome Stay. We will definitely be back.

How we never knew this beautiful little resort existed is mind blowing! Spent 3 nights here in March and cannot wait to go back. The beautifully decorated little cabins, the stunning backdrops, probably some of the best meals we have ever had, the kind staff, all of it!

This place was absolutely amazing!! We stayed here for our anniversary and it was so romantic. Everything about it felt so peaceful and blissful. The staff were so friendly and the rooms were charming, and I love how quiet and calm everything is. The restaurant is lovely as well. Our goal when we came here was to relax and unwind, and forget about busy life. We definitely achieved our goal! Thank you for a wonderful stay 🙂
