*To Air Canada - We had a potential Racist discrimination and rude treatment by your checkin counter employee**

The older lady at Super Elite checkin counter at Halifax airport on the morning of Aug 6th , 2024, was super rude to my family. Despite having a premium credit card with priority check-in privilege, she argued why we should not have been in the priority lane. I'm not sure why she hand signaled us to come into Super Elite Lane. Then she was outright rude with us for packing our car seat in the transparent bag, which later turned out to be the right way oversized baggage security guy expected it to be. We confronted and told her she gave us the wrong info and then was rude to us. We have never been treated this way before, and potentially, she had an issue with us being racially from a different background.

Subject: Unpleasant Experience with Air Canada Staff at Check-in

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service received from a staff member during our recent check-in experience with Air Canada. While one staff member (with long hair) was wonderful, the other (with short hair) displayed unprofessional behavior.

Initially, while the long-haired staff member assisted us, the short-haired staff member made a rude comment when my husband tried to help, asking, "Is this yours?" This was both unnecessary and impolite.

Later, when we returned to request a wheelchair, the same staff member, in a stern and rude tone, questioned whether we were in business class and instructed us to move. Such behavior is unacceptable, regardless of our seating class, especially in a customer service-oriented environment where staff are the face of the company.

I strongly urge Air Canada management to address this issue promptly and provide appropriate training to ensure a more respectful and customer-focused service from their staff. It is crucial that employees represent the company positively, and such incidents can adversely affect the airline's reputation.

Terrible customer service. Zero sympathy or accomodation. Three canceled flights in two days. Resulting in me almost missing my U2 concert in Las Vegas (last show at the Sphere). Unacceptable service after booking a flight that was supposed to arrive in Las Vegas more than 48 hrs before the concert.

Original flight was supposed to depart Halifax, NS (AC1597) at 16:30 on Thursday February 29th, land in Montreal, QC at 17:17 and then depart at 19:35 to arrive in Las Vegas at 22:25 local time. I was going to meet my girlfriend in Montreal (she was flying from Toronto) and then fly together on same flight to Las Vegas (AC1274). The flight leaving Halifax was originally delayed, then canceled due to business or operational changes to planned flight schedule, then rescheduled on a different plane for 17:10. Then the flight from Montreal to Las Vegas was canceled due to crew scheduling issues.

Now at this point I'm scrambling to try and figure out what to do, I have a flight to Montreal, but no flight to Las Vegas , I am on phone with rebooking. As I am on the phone they reschedule flight from Halifax to Montreal again and reschedule flight from Montreal to Las Vegas for the next day at 17:45 via a connection in Minneapolis and arriving in Las Vegas at 23:35 Friday March 1st.

The lady at rebooking said I had two options : fly to Montreal and stay overnight and fly out on above mentioned flight above. Or I could rebook for tomorrow (Friday) on a flight from Halifax , NS to Newark, NY the next morning at 10:30, and arriving in Las Vegas at 19:24. I wasn't keen on staying overnight in Montreal and waiting until 17:45 the next day to fly out.

So I booked the Newark connection flight with customer service in person at airport near to gate I was at after talking with the lady at rebooking. She had told me that I should be reimbursed for hotel stay in Halifax as I was from out of province (Moncton , NB ), which is a 2 and a half hour drive from the airport. I was pretty rattled at this point and went to customer service for help to rebook flights , the older man at the booth was condescending and rude.

He reluctantly rebooked my flights and said my profile was a mess and he would clean it up , after about twenty minutes, my flight was rebooked and account was cleaned up (kept getting notifications from all the different flights I had been scheduled on so the whole experience was very stressful and confusing-this continued after he "fixed" it).  I then asked about hotel compensation for the night and he flat out denied me and claimed cause it was weather related (which it was not,  as I didn't receive a single delay or cancelation email or text that mentioned anything other than operational issues or crew issues as stated above), and that because it was home airport that wouldn't be an option.

Terrible customer service after everything that had happened and the fact that I had a 2.5 hr drive home to moncton and have to leave again next morning and drive 2.5 hrs again at like 6 am. Just no compassion or compensation for that whatsoever, I find that ridiculous. I end up leaving the airport and getting to my car around 18:00 at the park n fly exhausted and angry. I double check the new flight schedule email itinerary and am amazed to see that after everything I had said to the man at customer service and how adamant I was that I needed to be in Las Vegas by Saturday at the latest 17:00 to get to concert at 20:00, he had ended up booking me on a flight for March 2nd instead of March 1st , which would have gotten me the day after the concert. I couldn't believe it, just crazy.

I was honestly so worked up that it's a good thing I actually double checked that he actually booked the flight properly, that is just not something the customer should have to deal with at that point. So in a frantic state I call rebooking yet again , and actually had another really helpful person that was very sympathetic and rebooked my flight to the proper time just in time, as there was one seat left.  Pitiful customer service .

Typically late and delayed. Typically do not advertise delays and claim "on time" status on flights delayed a half hour.
Good customer service but man, do not rely on them to get you there on time unfortunately

1. Well mixed feeling of service

2. If you book through Air Canada. They have tie up service with other airlines. Example Lufthansa. Which is not a good airline at all

3.So here if you define a service which you will give best but what if you are diverting your customers in corporation with other airlines, how do you define their service grade.

4. Air Canada domestic flights have a five star rating. Good leg space ,very neat and clean and yes you can breathe.

5. People in Canada love you all , sorry ,thank you for the great words they use and win your heart. So when you are exiting the plane , you follow the line and they wait until you remove the bag and go ahead.
Very disciplined canada people are. So the domestic airline was a very nice experience.

6. But when you move to international travel, what happens to air canada.

No leg space . Same very suffocating arrangements, no water was given till five hours. Only three or four crew members are servicing business class and they come to you in the sixth hour.

7. I was traveling from Halifax to Yul It was very uncomfortable journey.

Yul to London Heathrow delayed airline time, no water was given ,no leg space, too much crowd and very sick travel . Plus the food was bad.

8. I ate pasta , which was pathetic . We Indians also make good pasta, but this was I don't know how I ate. But was hungry as long lay over flight delay and imagine pasta as meal was given.

9. The flight was full . No leg space ,so had tough time. Also too much of food smell , which was getting on head.

I some how went to sleep. But later started sweating, and felt breathless and I went unconscious.

I got one doctor and one nurse by name Suzie who helped me to get in conscious state .

Air canada staff was very good. So canadian people too good as human , very helpful.

10. So here they gave oxygen cylinder and once off that leg , I moved to another sector from London Heathrow to Mumbai.

11. Same suffering. Too crowded , no leg space. No water was given till five hours. The flight was delayed by 2.5 hours and further they served after 2 hours. So dead completely

12. Too many senior citizens were on board . But if this is service for economy class then where are we heading .

13. Don't we all deserve to travel like human.

Why there is a class difference.
Of course you can give seven star treatment to business class . But why not giving one standard. Service to service class people. You can treat them as human .

The food was too good on this flight .

But here can we not have service treatment for all passengers wherein we should be treated like humans .

One question to airlines cannot all make good arrangements for all classes so that when you get down and we say yes this is the airline I want to travel always.

Out of ten two people who will travel by business in any airline and get the service. How about the remaining eight people should say yes to airline service and come back to you all without any marketing expense.

And moreover if this treatment continues one person if he dies in your airline all your efforts will get ruined at the cost of someone's life and your biased service on basis of class.

Study service of Jet Airways .
All ten people will say yes to that airline and will wait for that service airline to show up some day .

So here Iam not traveling by Lufthansa ,Air Canada domestic flight yes ,no international flight.

And yes cannot risk life by travelling like this experience. Maybe i will die next time but there is no difference to airline and yes difference to reader. So don't make your parents travel like that . They don't deserve this. Infact we all don't deserve this service. We are not going free , we are paying what is asked but not served as per norms of hospitality terms .

So seriously both the parties need to think this and make better travel for all human who are still with us with god's grace .

Rude staff, poorly organized, unreliable and heartless. If I could give zero stars, I would.
These people; this airline is the worst! The last 3 times I've booked with them I've had problems. At 11:30 pm they send me a cancellation notice for my 6 am flight citing "Crew Constraints" if you can believe that. It took me until almost 2 am to make arrangements for another flight -- 9:20 pm which meant I had to cancel plans at my destination. I had to extra expenses from the car rental, airport food and huge inconvenience.
Then, they delayed the 9:20 flight 3 times. The gate beside us (also Air Canada) was experiencing similar delays for different reasons (excuses).
Rude staff, poorly organized, unreliable and heartless.
If you can avoid flying with them --- Do So!
