The Chester Welcome Center is fantastic! You’ll find the Popeye statue outside, and inside, you can grab some maps and check out the coin press machine with character designs—don’t forget to bring coins! The restrooms are clean, and there are vending machines for quick snacks and drinks.

Great location just after crossing the Chester Bridge from Missouri. From here you can get some great photos of the bridge going over the Mississippi River. It is also the beginning of the town that celebrates everything Popeye and his statue is here and the first of 19 throughout the town and some Lewis and Clark history. Informative center and a helpful employee inside.

Right off the main highway coming into Chester from Missouri. Welcome center has a 15-minute (guessing) movie on the history of the area. Great view of the Mississippi. Clean restrooms. The big attraction is the Popeye statue and a history of Popeye (the creator was from Chester). Great for a 20-minute stop to learn the area, Popeye, stretch, and get some fresh air.

This is an excellent area visitor center. The front area is open extended hours. Inside there is a great video on the history of Chester. There is a lot of information on the Popeye cartoons. There is a great view of the river, bridge, and trains. Outside there is a Popeye statue and information on Lewis & Clark stop off. Also nice bathrooms inside.
