Well worth a walk around to take in the views and learn a little about the history of Berwick as a garrison town.

Information signs and benches a plenty as well as parts of the LS Lowry trail.

Beautiful scenery around the Berwick ramparts. Partly English Heritage managed site that is free to access. Nice walk that takes about an hour or so..

Best place I ever Been, it was amazing experience the all town is full of history attractions, walls to walk through, the walls since British and Scottish wars. Best fish and chips in all UK & Scotland.. very highly recommended

Interesting historic feature with lots of the original defences still intact. Clean and well presented, with useful information boards around the walls explaining more about their history. Good views of the barracks and over the sea. Remarkably accessible with good paths, and views pleasingly uninterrupted by fencing or barriers.

Town Walls definitely worth a wander round - lots of informative information boards, fantastic views out to sea. Easy to navigate, free parking and within close proximity of the town at all times.

It the wall around the city of Berwick. It must be quite old and show the protection walls around the wall. It requires a long walk to cover it and many bill boards provide information about the barracks. It may have been used even during the great world wars. The best way to walk and see the whole thing is to follow Lowry's trail as attached. The best place to know it's history is the main guard exhibition.

Fabulously preserved walls with easy access. We joined the walk at the end of Woolmarket and the route was well signposted with lots of information boards. The paths were level and well kept and there was no litter.
From this vantage point you could see into the flanking bastions and get an idea of the fields of fire of the guns as well as the defences. We walked the route over an afternoon and then early morning but a couple of hours would be plenty to take it all in.
