What a lovely place to visit. We were taken on a guided tour by a lovely gentleman who made the tour very interesting. We then had a walk round the grounds and along the river, so peaceful. We had lunch in the stables cafe, plenty of light meals to choose from and such friendly staff. Well worth a visit. (You can't take photos in the house)

Visited here several times. Lovely walk along the river. Gardens are beautiful. Tea room with separate tea room for dog owners. Nice food and drinks, although service was very slow.
There is also a gift shop with plants from the grounds (I bought some to bring back to my garden!)
It's worth a visit if you're in the area.

Our starting point for a tour of Scotland. After a long tiring journey from SE England we arrived in the Sunshine at a haven of peace & calm. Fabulous site in Patton House walled garden. On your stay you have free access to the surrounding park.

We went to Paxton house to have a look around.
I highly recommed this as a day out, definetly do the tour Jim was amazing.
They make getting access in a wheelchair easy, providing you have a strong person to push you over cobbles and loose stone pathway.
There is also lift into the main house so seeing the fabulous Chippendale furniture was easy and a joy too.

I could not access the upper floor are it is up a spiral staircase, however there is a video available on a comuter screen so I did not miss out on the bedrooms.

The tearoom is nice, homemade soups and sandwiches, located in the old stables.
The entry fee including the tour is £15 per adult, if you are registered disabled with a carer, they are granted free entry.

Like many statley homes, Paxton House a stunning setting on the banks of the river Tweed. Easily sign posted from the A1.
The house has enjoyed a rather strange history of events from its owners however, its most notable feature is the beautiful Chippendale furniture.
Plus they host an Antique Fair 16th to 18th August 2024
