We asked about the best donuts and pastries within an hour of Lloydminster. Overwhelming responses were Golden Loaf Bakery in Elk Point, Ab. Took a drive and it was certainly worth it. Beaver Tails!!! Apple Fritters, lots of assorted donuts. The bakery makes your mouth water. We returned last week, just as pleased. Except, no beaver tails, sob. We will return again, a nice scenic drive from Lloyd. Owner is like her wares, friendly and warm.

Stopped in looking for a last minute cake to celebrate a birthday. Understandably they could not accomodate our request due to the timeframe. Left with two dozen donuts (should have got more). Those donuts were delicious. Would recommend to anyone passing or staying in Elk Point.

Adorable little shop. Softest fluffiest bread I have ever eaten. The staff was super kind and helpful. If you're looking for a sweet treat, I strongly recommend this bakery.

My son and I stopped here for some treats and he slipped as we were stepping out the door. The owners were apologetic (it’s winter so honestly it’s no one’s fault!) and they told my son to pick a new doughnut because he was sad his got squished when he fell. They also threw in a couple doughnut holes too which was very sweet.
I ordered a couple pies for my birthday from here as well and they are honestly some of the best pies I’ve ever had.
Delicious treats, lovely people, we will always make the drive to stop in here 🙂

Super friendly and inviting and patient with us as we chose our 12 donuts. We got sourdough, white, 100% whole wheat loafs of bread. Great prices and excellent quality! Will be going to get our bread and treats from there again soon! Highly recommend! Can't wait to try other treats like the fudge brownie and their cinnamon buns!

Best homemade bakery/donut shop local to us. These donuts are absolutely delicious (and everything else they make!). The owner wakes up every morning at 2am to have these good made for the public (talk about dedication!!). We love to stop by here when we are out camping in the area and ocassinally will make the 45 minute drive because it's absolutely worth it!

Very very good home made goodies, pastries, breads, rolls, etc etc!! Lots of food options there! Fresh made everything including pies and cakes donuts, you name it 😜.... really good prices and if you arent there early in day they may be sold out of the good stuff... Always a pleasure to shop there...

Really amazing donuts! My favourite was the apple fritters that are perfect in the morning when freshly baked!
That being said, these past few times I’ve came I checked the website beforehand to make sure they were open. And when I got there sadly they weren’t, and they didn’t even bother updating the website!
I’m a little dissatisfied and hope they can clear everything up better so I won’t have to spend an extra 40 minutes driving to leave empty handed!
