I've been staying at the Holiday Inn Express for 20 years and it will always be my favorite Hotel when I'm on the road. I can honestly say I'm pretty disappointed with the thermostat control at this location and the noisy fridge. Even when the thermostat/heater is turned off it blows cold air on you on the hour every hour waking a person up. This issue was the same with my two co-workers rooms. We all like our rooms a bit cooler. When you look where the controls used to be on the heater it says controlled by wall mounted thermostat but such isn't the case. Apparently you need to get in touch with maintenance to override their safety device which is apparently supposed to keep things from freezing should the thermostats be turned off and not turn back on again. From what I understand cold air being blown into a room does not prevent things from freezing. Either way hopefully this helps avoid others having uncomfortable night sleep at this location. From BC to SK I haven't had this issue before it any other Holiday Inn Express.

I stayed there with family booked 3 rooms. I booked this hotel to attend a family wedding in Edmonton Canada. We have family that live just around the corner from the hotel so would be spending a lot of our time there. |The check in was very easy and quick as the reception had all our details ready so we just needed to confirm who was staying in which rooms. |The rooms were big and had 2 queen size beds in each one. Ours was clean and had a view over a little park and other houses the surrounded the park. |The bath room had a shower over a bath and had a dispenser for gel and shampoo. A bit dated but clean.|The hotel also had a swimming pool and hot pool. It was clean and welcoming. Towels were also provided for you. We went in quite a lot. |The breakfast was a bit of a surprise with coming from the UK we were not expecting to eat breakfast from a paper plate, plastic cutlery and drink tea/coffee from a disposable cup. Saying that the breakfast was eatable. There was cereal bacon or sausage egg and toast that you did yourself. Also you could get pancakes using the pancake making machine. Fruit drinks and tea/coffee. |The staff were very friendly and professional I would definitely stay there again when visiting Edmonton

Upon arrival, the room was very warm. We tried to cool it down without success. Called the desk at 12:30 am.

A gentleman did come to see what the problem was.

An adjustment was made but the fan continued to come on and off every 2 minutes throughout the night.

Our concern was relayed to the desk upon leaving.

We left tired wondering why another room was not offered to us.

I have stayed at this hotel for several years (until Covid struck in 2020 and my late wife developed Alzheimer's disease). I was pleased to note that, during may absence, the hotel's standards have not dropped and I had another very comfortable and pleasant stay. Nothing was too much trouble for the excellent staff and I shall be staying here again on my next visit to Canada.

The hotel is getting old and along with this the maintenance is poor. Need more thoroughly clean and touch specially the tiles (elevator) walls, corners and carpet.

Please provide the Hot tub with more booster power and more clean up each day.

Welcomed by friendly and very competent staff. My room was comfortable, and I was able to relax. The breakfast is excellent, and the staff are diligent in ensuring they replenish each item.

A couple of areas for improvement: One elevator out of service is very inconvenient. USB ports do not provide power; all require repair.

Overall a very positive experience. Free breakfast was very good with good hours. Friendly staff. Comfy beds. Could improve room darkening curtains. They don't cover the full width of the window (middle section with regular curtains on the sides in our room) so you're up early or sleeping with your head under the blankets. One issue with room not being cleaned while we were out. Great location. We would stay here again.
