Our first time doing a fly in fishing trip. Cory, the pilot, and the staff were fantastic at answering all our questions and making us feel comfortable. Although we didn't catch a ton of fish at 'Unknown' lake we had enough to eat that didn't deter anything from our awesome time. Each of us truly loved being at the camp and together and way from technology. My boys definitely said they want to do this again. Thanks to all of you at Cochrane Air! Hope to be back sometime.

We stayed at one of the outposts, definitely not a luxury cabin, and could use some updates, but what we wanted and had great pilots and fishing.

The Pilot was awesome, very helpful, the camp was great. The lake (Echo) was beautiful, and the fishing was awesome. Can't wait to go on another fly in fishing trip!!!

Amazing trip. Wikwam lake was beautiful but the trophy pike were in Brayley lake (small hike from Mikwam)
Also huge pike in mikwam river. Just have a look at my nephews trophy. Thanks to all at Cochrane air. I’m already booked for next year

Went to Edgar Lake in 2023 the camp was a dump. No water of any kind and the cabin up on a hill overlooking the lake. But thats minor because the outhouse fell apart and was in a state of disrepair. When we got there the pilot never inspected the boats-motors for damage -functionality. He didn't and the motors were all out of order except one that someone had trashed the prop on it and it was hard to start. The boats all leaked. So right away were going threw the boats and motors to see if there's a workable combination. to salvage the trip, baerly and with a lot of frustration, we got one working. The fishing for large pickerel (walleye) was very good with most 22' to 27", nice fish yes the lake had very good fishing and I missed a pike in the upper 40's.
So no complaints about the fishing bring worms they like worms, it makes a difference on this lake.

1st time Fly in moose hunt with Cochrane Air . Staff and pilot were very good/helpful during flight in and out of camp . Cabin was tidy but very out of level which made sleeping uncomfortable . Decent boats and a canoe . Outboard motors were another story . At minimum 30 year old two stroke motors which did not idle properly or quietly . The props should have been replaced on the two motors in camp . Flew us in another motor and only ran on one cylinder . Was worse than the two we already had in camp . Having been to a number of fly in camps but our first time with Cochrane . I did not think to question the motors we would be supplied with . With an outpost hunt and the only mode of travel is water . I did not think I would have to ask if the boat has a good set of oars or if the canoe has a good set of paddles . And the expectation of a good running 4 stroke outboard would be a given .

While the fishing was great, there are much better options when it comes to communication, accommodation and equipment. The cabin needs updates, the cookware/cooking equipment is quite poor and disgusting and has to be replaced ASAP. I wouldn't use most of it, bring your own. The fishing hut had crap thrown everywhere, the fishing "station" was a wobbly, dirty table that we needed to secure. Mouse droppings on bunks and around the cabin, a literal hole under the sink that animals can access, outhouses are in poor condition. This place needs some love. I won't go back until they exhibit some updates. Edgar Lake review - 2024.
