So many sections of this trail to walk on. Soooo many beautiful spots to see and discover. I hardly bring my phone because I want to soak it all in therefore I don't have many photos of this beautiful trail. As saying goes, photos doesn't do it justice
Great area solo or with family and friends. I take my Wieners here for fresh air 🤣

I only wish pet owners pick up and do not leave bags behind, eventually this will ruin it for the rest of us

Thornton-Cookstown Trans Canada Trail is a 15.6 Kilometre moderately trafficked point-to- point trail. It starts from 5th Side Rd, Innisfil across from Georgain Downs, goes through Thornton, Essa then goes into Cookstown, Innisfil and ends at Line 13, New Tecumseth. This trail is a part of the Great Trail. On each gate there's a sign to tell you where you are now and what you can't do. It's very clean and maintained well. It's a good trail for biking. It's also dog friendly, but must be kept on leash. There's a free parking on 15 Line/ Victoria St W, Innisfil.

Visit on May 14, 2023. Walked portion from 15th Line to 14th Line. Parked at 15th Line / Victoria Street near entrance to the Town's wastewater treatment facility. Very well maintained at time of visit. Mobility impaired accessible. Expect to share the trail with cyclists, dog-walkers and perhaps the occasional horse rider. Two bridges during this length over Cookstown Creek. Lovely natural beauty.

We enjoy this trail that is flat and easy walking. This hike is a great escape from the stresses of the city and cars. Nature is good and relaxing for the soul.

Biked the approximately 22km round trip from Cookstown to Thorton. Trail is well maintained and even throughout. A great way to spend the day with the entire family.

Went after a snowfall. It’s flat and straight. A lot of snow mobiles. I bet it would be wonderful in the spring.
