My departure today was at 11am from South Baymouth to Tobermory. I got to South Baymouth at 10:10am and was told by your gate keeper they have already made the cut off an hour prior. Your website clearly states be there minimum an hour before departure, why did you made a cut off at 9:10am? That's 2hrs prior departure! I called your customer service and complained and asked for a refund if I dont get boarded only to be told sorry no refunds. First of all this is illegal to be charging customers who took their time doing the reservations only to be bumped off by commuters on stand by. I was only 10 mins late from the said 1 hr before departure. What's the use of reserving a spot if your staff can't keep the spot, if that's the case then dont charge us for missed voyage and fix your online policy and state it 2 hrs prior departure! Zero empathy and lack of customer service.

The staff are amazing! When I checked in to the loading docks at both check points, 2 attendants noticed the low pressure in one of my tires. Not only did they point this out, they had an air compressor and pumped up my tire. We had a 4 hour drive home so this attention to detail was greatly appreciated by myself and my family. The ferry service worked like clock work! Many, many thanks!

Unfortunately, due to a mechanical failure the ferry could not be unloaded at the island. Although our trip was cancelled and we were returned to Tobermory, after reaching out to Management at the Owen Sound Transportation Company, we were refunded all of the money paid for our ferry ride, all of the money paid for our AirBNB and were also provided free food on the ferry ride back to Tobermory. The whole ship was provided free food. This all was a very pleasant surprise and we look forward to using this ferry service again in 2023 when we adventure out to the island again. Thank you Peter and all the staff on the ship for putting up with all the upset passengers!

Likely not much sense in complaining except in the hopes that the company keeps an eye here and responds to the problems.
First time ever (attempted) booking to Pelee Island, trying to get May 21, 2022 for a day trip. Multiple calls months before with no answer and no response to messages, schedule and booking opening dates mysteriously appear on the website with no rhyme or reason - makes it hard to plan a trip in advance. March 16th was told booking would open by phone at 830am and online for 9am. Have been on hold for 1hr 45mins and online does not even show the Leamington departures so cannot book dates before July - what a gong show. Anyway, no other option for me and my wife to get to the island so must suffer through this mess and hope for the best. Please do better Owen Sound Transportation Company, this process is not friendly to your customers - especially first timers....

Have been sailing from Tobermory to South Bay mouth for over 40 years with my family. I am very disheartened to have been given loyalty points on my account, applied it to my most recent sailings only to receive a phone call telling me they've discontinued the program and are not honoring the points I applied at time of booking and had amounts owing.

First off, completely illegal to do this.

Second you are going to be losing a large number of customers as they find out including my extended family and friends.

This will be affecting the tourism industry on Manitoulin Island as well due to your greed.

The staff and personnel and ships are amazing but the communication during this extended covid could be a lot better. I saw many people leaving turned away from the ferry as there was no immediate indication on the web page or phone messages that they are down to less than 1/3 capacity. A simple Banner ad on their web page or a message on their phone service before you got into the nitty gritty would go a long way to helping salvage a vacation that was supposed to include the chichiman. It is not usually hard to get on to the ferry especially during weekdays but now you have to book a month out to get a spot

Extremely disappointed. Have used this ferry the last 3 summers on my driving trip from Windsor to Thunder Bay. I was supposed to be catching the 3:30 ferry at South Baymouth today, but I got a text late last night saying all evening ferries yesterday & all ferries today are cancelled due to a mechanical issue. No offers for help or ways to rebook. Airlines, trains, or other modes of travel would call & attempt to help you rebook. Not here, it’s basically just “Ferry isn’t going today, you’re screwed!” Thanks for nothing!
