We asked for a quote for 3 Old Town Kayaks. The staff kept promising they would send us a quote, and we didn't hear back from them. We ended up going through The Trail Shop instead. I'm not sure what is up with this Old Town dealer, they don't seem to eager to make a sale.

In September 2024, I came to Halifax on a cruise. Very last minute, I decided to try and book a two tank dive. I googled dive shops close to the cruise port. East Coast Scuba popped up. I e-mailed the shop about the possibility of doing this dive. In short time, I received a response that they could accommodate my request. Since I was on a cruise I also needed to arrange transportation. East Coast also took care of providing transportation.

On the morning of the dive, East Coast was waiting for me at the cruise port. I met Brad who was my dive master/guide for the day. We went back to the shop so I could pay for the dive and try on a wetsuit. We loaded up the van with our equipment and went to the dive site (Paddy's Head). This was a very enjoyable dive. Saw lots of lobster and flounder.

Brad was an excellent guide. Since it was just the two of us, I was concerned about being able to carry on a conversation. Brad was very friendly and talkative. He pointed out several points of interest along the way and even took me by some of the more touristy areas. In the water, Brad was constantly checking on me and pointing out the marine life. I felt safe and relaxed the whole time.

Since I was on a cruise, I was limited in time. When I first e-mailed East Coast, I expressed the need to be back to the ship by a certain time. They assured me this wouldn't be a problem. When Brad met me, I also told him. During our dive, Brad was very mindful of the time and the distance to get back to the ship. We finished two tanks and loaded up the van and headed back to the ship. Brad dropped me off outside the cruise terminal with plenty of time to spare.

If you're in Halifax and looking for a dive shop, look no further than East Coast. They entire staff was friendly and helpful.

I will definitely go with East Coast when in Halifax again.

Tracy and John are amazing! You will have the best service and instruction with these two 🙂 Tracy was my dive instructor and she was so kind and patient with me. I had the best experience and learned to dive in a safe environment with people who really care about each and every one of their students. I highly recommend learning to dive with these instructors. And if you’re already certified, go with them for some amazing NS dives with the best service!

Firstly, it is always a pleasant visit to the East Coast Scuba store. If you haven’t visited before, I suggest if scuba and water-sports are your think do. I had a lovely surprise when I visited today, thought I was going in for a dry suit trial for my husband to be greeted with a Kayak purchase for me, thanks Tracy for the help in kitting we out safely with PFD, paddle and Akona Kayak in a cool colour. Staff at East Coast are patient, not pushy and knowledgeable:-)

A fabulous dive shop with knowledgeable and passionate staff to assist you with all your diving needs. The shop has a very laid back but professional atmosphere. I like how when you walk in, you are not smacked in the face with diving gear for sale but are greeted with a relaxing lobby area. The shop also has a kitchen area with a big table and bar stools were you can shoot the breeze with other divers while enjoying a coffee or something to eat. There is even a patio at the back of the shop that over looks a beautiful stream where you can use their BBQ to cook something to eat. I look forward to advancing my scuba acknowledge and skills with East Coast Scuba and Watersports.
