The quality of care is excellent, but the wait times are not for the weak. I arrived at 8pm, with an estimated wait time of 4 hours, I got past triage and into reassessment at 12am, but was not seen until 3am. Overall I left at 4am, eight hours after I arrived. That being said, every member of staff was lovely, kind, and understanding. I felt listened too and cared for each time I spoke to someone, and when i was in distress the nurses were compassionate and comforting. However, if you arent in immediate, imminent danger, I highly suggest waiting and going to a walk-in clinic, or even travel to a different hospital if you are able.

I was told based SOLELY on my explanation to the doctor that my chronic and severe pain is nothing of concern and to just do some physio. No xray, no mri, no blood work, no tests of any kind, shit he didn't even LOOK visibly at my back til my boyfriend spoke up. Would not recommend, they just push people out. A word of advice: go somewhere else and whatever you do, if you've been admitted to the hospital, do NOT stay here while waiting for an actual room. Came to the ER, there was an 11 hour wait. After finally being seen, was dimissed with antibiotics and pain meds. Next day was worse, decided to take an ambulance in as the pain was unbearable and couldnt bear sitting for the wait again... ended up having to wait 5 hours to see someone regardless. Be your own advocate, they will dismiss you unless you are persistent. Was finally seen and admitted for surgery (to take place with a specialist 3 days later). The doctor recommended I stay in the hospital, under the pretense that my pain would be better managed there than at home while waiting for the surgery, and I would have a room in the ER until a room became available upstairs. Then I was handed over to the "nurses" in the ER... I was ignored and my pain was dismissed (after the doctor had confirmed that I was to be given whatever was needed to keep the pain under control). I witnessed other patients also being treated like animals rather than human beings. Be prepared to be stripped of all dignity in this place. When my condition visibly worsened overnight, I was refused any contact with a doctor and was told I would have to wait until the next doctor made their rounds the next day. By that time, the doctor that saw me was shocked at my rapidly worsening condition and unbearable pain! Needless to say, I would've been in far better condition for the surgery had I just stayed at home and slept in a real bed and taken care of myself. There are a plethora of horrifying incidents that happened during my 2 night stay in the ER, I could write a novel, but in summary, I would recommend that you avoid this ER AT ALL COSTS. Upstairs, however, if you are admitted and do have the luxury of actually getting a room, the nurses there are lovely, mature, and actually care about their patients and treat them as human beings.

Amazing and attentive healthcare. They were so thorough and kind. Dr Khan had incredible and professional bedside manner. Went over all bloodwork. Nurse Kass—thank YOU. Hardworking healthcare professionals are in abundance here.

Zero Stars!!! I’m not sure this experience could get any worse. Checked in at 1130pm due to complications from a surgery that was performed HERE earlier in the day. Waited 8+ hours to be seen by possibly the most inconsiderate ER doctor with the worst chair side manner I have ever seen. God help you if you need to visit this ER. Do yourself a favour and make the commute elsewhere.

I brought my daughter to the emergency department with a head injury , with an extreme forehead contusion 4x3 inches . She hit her head on cement.
She was triaged, was told she'd be taken in " soon" due to a head injury .
Well after 6 hrs she was reassess, then waited another 3 hrs , until we saw the ER Dr . She was taken for xrays & discharged, stating no fracture to her skull .
The blood from the contusion has now pooled in her left eye & beneath both yes ! None of this was told would happen.
A new facility for ER but same " old" routine , extremely BAD. Hopefully I will never have to set foot back in this horrendous Emergency department.
The staff were somewhat friendly, that's the only postive aspect . DONT GO TO CAMBRIDGE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT, if you can avoid it go else where , " anywhere" .
CAMBRIDGE Emergency DEPARTMENT is equivalent to a poor walk in clinic .

Been having back, rib and chest pain for over 5 months where it hurts to even breathe and I never get looked at. I Spend hours on end to just be told I look fine, when I can barely breathe properly.
Emergency room is horrible. Staff is rude, the doctor waits hours to see any patient once it hits 8pm or later. Even if it hurts to breathe and you’re struggling you still have to wait 6hrs minimum. Last night was my last straw with this hospital. I asked for anything that can help take the pain away as it’s embarrassing to sit in the waiting room crying and all they told me is they can give me Tylenol which clearly doesn’t work for me. I recommend people going LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE if they want help.

Never again!!!! Went by ambulance because I was in debilitating pain, weak muscles, tremors, and numbness in my hands. My hands also locked for about an hour, without being able to move them.
Waited 11 hours to be seen by a Dr. who spent about 6 minutes with me and outright told me I shouldn't be there for "tingling" in my hands.
Spent almost 22 hours there in total, to be sent home with not even a script that he had promised! Pathetic
