This review is more related to the boat launch at the park. It is a city run launch and it's not very well maintained. The launch is narrow and can only handle one boat at a time. This can be a fairly busy launch on weekends too with boaters and kayakers since there is a city run campground here as well.
There is no parking directly by the launch and the designated parking area is always full of vehicles likely from the local campers. You'll be lucky to squeeze in a spot. Thankfully it's a relatively short walk back to your boat.
The launch itself is not very good. They dropped in a few cement sections that have rocks between them. The biggest issue is the 1 foot drop at the end of those short cement ramps. Your boat just dramatically drops into the water. Now for smaller boats, this isn't a terrible thing, but if you have a bigger boat or a pontoon, then it's not so great. Getting out is the bigger challenge. You have to be cautious or you could damage your trailer axle or wheels.
There is no dock either. The only thing available is what seems to be a private boat house with an outer walkway ledge. We were not sure if you could tie off there or not as there are no signs. There are no cleats or bumpers so I don't think it's publicly available. The only signs we could see were the "private parking" signs all over.
The turnaround area is also pretty tight. It's not bad if there aren't many vehicles parked in those private spots, but if it's filled with cars, you're hard pressed to be able to maneuver in that small circle.
Once you manage to unload, the water is pretty clear and has a decent depth of about 5 feet at the launch. You can easily see the bottom that is mostly rocky. The lake is beautiful. It's not overly big but it's a nice cruise for sure.
The lake itself has varying depths from a few feet to 89 feet. Most of the rocks are pretty clearly marked and it's relatively easy to navigate. A depth finder is recommended for sure as there can be rock outcroppings in such random areas.
The beach is decent. There's a small park for the kids too. The beach is more of a small rock consistency and like many others, is littered with goose droppings. They allows dogs on a leash.
Overall, it's not a bad place to spend a nice summer day. The launch could definitely use some upgrading and maintenance and it would be nice if they had a designated dock to use. I think the next time we go, it will be with kayaks and not a big boat.

We pulled in here last minute for one night. The setting is great, right on the lake with trails to the point. Beautiful! The man who checked me in was very nice, I asked if there was showers and was told yes. He then told me where the bathrooms were and informed me that only 2 were working out of 6. Oh well at least there were showers. Well only 1 it turns out with no hot water. Anyway nice place but don't expect much!

I have always loved coming to this beach since I was a teen. There is no lifeguard at this beach so it is swim at your own risk.

Nice, big, clean beach. No lifeguards, there is a snack shack that serves fries and ice cream - small things like that. Nice park for kids and there are also volleyball courts. One of my favourite beaches!

Great beach, no life guards. Easy laid back atmosphere. Not a far drive to feel like you're away from the city. Has a playground and plenty of water to swim in.

There are toilets at the beach entrance and plenty of seating as well as shade to the right hand side :). Everyone was respectful of the beach while we went and it had a really relaxed feeling to it without being overcrowded. Plenty of parking too
