I rent in a newly built apartment complex, one of three buildings recently finished by a big developer (E Squared Developments). Problem is, they handed over occupancy without delivering on basics like parking and heat. It’s February 2025, with temperatures dropping below -20°C, and we’ve been without heat for over a week. The building manager’s done nothing, and we’re left freezing in our own homes.

Then there’s the parking mess. They promised a three-floor parking structure—hasn’t even started. Instead, we’re stuck parking on a gravel lot that’s supposed to become a playground someday. It’s a joke. Word around here is the city told the builder not to allow occupancy for the third building until parking was sorted, but apparently, that rule got ignored. Why? Rumors say the developer’s cozy with the mayor, donating to campaigns and getting a free pass to do whatever they want. If that’s true, it’s outrageous—Guelph shouldn’t be letting connected builders cut corners while residents suffer.

The city needs to step up and hold these developers accountable. People are paying good money to live here, and we deserve better than broken promises and no heat in the dead of winter. Fix this, Guelph—stop putting politics over people.

My kids were almost hit by a car in a school zone and it has all the lights and whistles to "stop" speeder hey guelph how many kids are going to have to have these close calls before are mayor starts caring .

Seeming how we can't leave reveiws on guelph police website. I'm gonna leave it hear. I just watched someone run a red light right in front of a cop and nothing . I also know a bus driver that almost had a cop run it's stop sign on the bus until the bus driver honked . What is going on are we just relying on cameras to do there jobs now
