Open all year round. Canoes, kayak rentals and boat launch. Not safe to swim in some area's. Camping, large covered picnic house for family gathering and many different log cabin sizes to rent. Some are mini log cabins with a queen size Murphy bed. Rates have no taxes. On the Rez.

Beautiful area to visit for a day trip - I drove down on a Sunday in late August from Kitchener. Amazing scenery and interesting spots to visit. Visited the Iroqrafts Gift Store at 1880 Tuscarora Rd in Ohsweken. Walked around the Chiefwoods Park and Museum and learned the story of Pauline Johnson. Rich in history and nature!

Went to the Nathan's HotDog trailer in Cheifswood Park. The best 12 " hot dog I have had. Fries done crispy and tasty. Recommend stopping and trying this out . Can't say enough about how good it was.

Real case happened In 2021 Summer we had five families went there for vacation, the river is not save for canoes activities, it was easy to capsize, due to a lot of speedy boat running in the river, one of my family got the accident on that trip, fortunately, they all wear the life jacket, and my canoe just beside them, so can help them how to escape! But it was very very danger if you don't know how to rescue
The camp site do not care about that, they just ask you to sign the waiver, so before you rent it, you have to ensure how to control and make you and your friends save!

The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Fully accessible. The guide was open to my potentially insensitive questions as I was there to learn. For example, the term 'tribe' is an American word not preferred in Canada, which is Nation.
I wanted information about a pow wow and am looking forward to attending this summer.
The one thing I was surprised by is the lack of a significant gift shop.

Unfortunately we were coming from Jarvis going to Ancaster for the 1st time the day after the snowstorm. Hwy 6 was still closed in Caledonia due to protest so we were given instruction to go to 4th line from hwy 6, turn left, go thru reservation, turn right which would take is to Ancaster fair grounds. Got the 4th line no probs then got lost for the next 1 1/2 hr. Road signage non existing, dark, there was nothing open to ask for directions even though is was only 10:30 pm. Needs clear intersection signs!!
