As a Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite member, I’ve experienced exceptional service at Marriott properties worldwide, but TownePlace Suites Oakville on April 18 was a glaring exception, undermining the Bonvoy program’s brand equity. Upon check-in, I inquired about available room upgrades, only to be told none existed. Yet, the Bonvoy app clearly showed a balcony room for just $20 more per night. When I presented this, the front desk claimed it was reserved for a team arriving the next day, prioritizing future bookings over a loyal member’s immediate request. When I asked to speak with the Assistant Manager, the provided number didn’t accept calls, leaving me without resolution.
The room, a small one-bedroom apartment, was lackluster. The sofa bed was not user-friendly, requiring front desk assistance to operate, which was inconvenient. Additionally, the bathroom faucet produced a disruptive water hammer rattling noise every time it was turned on or off, indicating poor maintenance. This level of disorganization, subpar customer service, and neglected room conditions is unrecognizable for a Marriott property. Marriott corporate must address these issues to protect the Bonvoy program’s reputation. I will not return to this property.

Just left today after staying 2 nights at this property. The service was fantastic. The front desk gentleman welcomed us, acknowledged my mom’s platinum and my gold status. We had 2 rooms and he provided a late 4 pm check out. Parts of the room and corridors/public areas are showing their age, and could use some refresh, but overall the place is clean, staff is friendly, and it is a comfortable room.
Our room layout was a little odd. We had a balcony room which is great, but only one small couch in the living room area. Not enough seating. We had a separate bedroom as well- which provided some extra space.
The complimentary hot breakfast was more than adequate and the staff were friendly and were bringing out fresh items frequently.
It is just off the highway, which is convenient, however there is nothing in the immediate area. Everything from a convenience store to restaurants etc is a drive.
Would consider staying here when in the area again.

I gave the room a 4 star because there were a few flies in my room (in February!) they offered to change rooms but I couldn't be bothered. Other than that it was really nice. Best way to describe it is that it's like a condo. The building was clean, very clean. The service was A++ really nice staff.

We have stayed here several times and always enjoy ourselves. The people who work here are wonderful. I'm a Lifetime Platinum member and I never have to ask for an upgrade. They always automatically upgrade me. On this stay, Hidaesh really spoiled me giving me the largest room I've ever had. Was wonderful. I could live here!! The breakfast was tasty as always which we enjoy very much. I always feel welcomed when I stay here.

Again, the staff here are phenomenal. Always ready to help and willing to assist with anything to enhance your stay. It's like home away from home

The hotel was fantastic for our hockey team.”; I particularly liked the large rooms with the separate bedroom. The staff were very accommodating for our large party. They even offered to help clean up after our large group dinner which was clearly our responsibility. I will stay here again and would recommend to others.

This is the ugly stepchild of the Marriott chain of hotels. First room didn’t have lighting in the kitchen unless you unplugged the microwave nor a working thermostat. Second room didn’t have any working televisions and had the same kitchen lighting issues. We chose no tv over no air and stayed in room number two. Lol! We shorted out the hall lights when blow drying and found one of the lamps didn’t work despite a bulb and plug change. It was comical. The building is an electrical nightmare and surely a fire hazard. BUT. I will say the service is superb. We received a night free for our troubles and the staff was very patient and kind. The breakfast buffet had lots of options and the pool and gym were clean. There was a large area outside for our dog to roll in the snow. Once we got half our money back we found it to be very worth the price. Ensure to check your room’s electrical before unpacking.

I got the big suite on the fourth floor with the dining table and separate kitchen. The staff was very helpful and service was great. I was able to meet with my team members in the suite and even use the TV to project my laptop. The gym is decent with free weights and elliptical/treadmill. The breakfast was my highlights as it’s so convenient and the eggs are free range and fresh (not powdered eggs). I think it was an existing hotel that got renovated and about a year old. I would recommend this hotel in Oakville, good value and location.

The hotel is brand new (a year old) and public areas & rooms are furnished with quality finishes per Marriott standards. Rooms are spacious & have fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher & full sized fridge. The hotel also offers additional appliances that you can borrow. The gym & pool were up to date & modern & the patio area was pleasant & includes a proper grill which you can use. The complimentary breakfast was basic but nice. The staff were incredibly helpful & went out of their way when my travel plans kept changing. The hotel is conveniently located right by the QEW Highway & downtown Oakville is a short drive away. The price paid per night was competitive and worth it.
