This was my first Detours trip. Clay was our trip leader. He was amazing. Our group was great. We bonded quickly and had a great time together. We were provided with lots of optional tours and activities. The Olive Oil Tour and the cooking class were my favourite events.

Just finished my second Detours adventure … to Portugal and Morocco. Had an amazing trip with a good group of people. The tours, the hotels, and the restaurants selected by Detours were all good, and kept getting better as the trip moved on. The hotel in Marrakech was one of the nicest I have stayed in. There is a great mix between included things, optional excursions and down time. Our leader Ollie was super helpful and friendly, but it was his enthusiasm about the places we went and the things we did just added to the experience. Already looking at my next Detours adventure.

This was my first Detours trip, and it certainly won’t be my last. The 12 days around Spain take you to four very different cities. The concept of walking trips in each city is a great way to understand the history and culture. They certainly find expert guides who bring the cities to life, and it’s fair to say my daily step count has never been higher - but in an enjoyable way

Our tour guide Clay was amazing in keeping all 16 of us informed on our trip plans, organising trips and meal options. The Detours concept is very flexible - if you don’t want to do something- you just opt out of any optional extras. Likewise with meals, most of us ate together every evening- but no one stressed if you did your own thing.

It’s hard to say what my highlight would be, obviously the walks around the cities were great, for me our day out at an Olive oil farm in Granada with a home prepared 5 course meal was high up there - but so was the concert on the roof of Casa Batilo was great, and seeing Ronda, oh and enjoying great company and making great friendships. In fact I can’t think of anything I didn’t enjoy.

The majority of people on the tour are from USA, but on our trip there were 3 of us living in the UK so don’t be put off booking if you’re not from the USA. There will be a warm welcome for you. It’s a small group so you get to know everyone, and the tour guide is always there to make sure things go smoothly

This was my first Detours trip and my first time to Europe and the experience was amazing. Detours went above and beyond to plan the vacation of a lifetime down to the smallest details. Our leaders Chase and Shane were incredible. I was super nervous having never done anything like this and now I’m planning my next trip! Highly recommend! Not only the travel experience but getting to know everyone on the trip was a highlight. I made friends and got to see another part of the world. This was the Italy trip, stayed in a castle…what more could you ask for!!
