The Oceanside, a Coast Hotel - Sechelt, British Columbia

We had a wonderful experience at the Oceanside, Sechelt, BC, thanks to Sagar for the excellent service right from booking the appropriate suit for my family. He was friendly, professional, and very helpful throughout our stay. The Check-in was quick and smooth, and he provided great recommendations for local attractions and restaurants. It really made a difference in our trip—thank you for the warm welcome and attentive service!
We had booked a 2bdr premium suit, it was very spacious clean and tidy. This is truely a family friendly place, my kid had a great time playing in the frontyard.

Our overnight stay at the hotel was excellent. My family and I would like to commend the staff who handled our reservation and check-in on April 29 at around 3:30 PM. They were professional, courteous, and efficient, creating a smooth and welcoming experience from the moment we arrived. The washroom in our room appeared to be recently renovated—spotlessly clean, modern, and well-appointed. The overall quality of service and accommodations truly exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be staying here again on our next visit and would highly recommend this hotel to others

An awesome location directly across from Davis Bay. We were very fortunate to have a spectacular sunset on the evening we stayed at the hotel. Receptionist Muizz went ‘beyond the call of duty’ and upgraded or booked room on the first floor to a suite on the top floor. Service from the front desk was also excellent and immediate when our TV ‘didn’t work’ (our mistake!). Our room was super clean and bed very comfortable. We had an excellent dinner at Joe’s as well, great service and food. We will gladly return for a longer stay hopefully in the near future.

Had a great stay at The Oceanside. Big thanks to Sagar and Muizz — they are very friendly and even came to pick me up from Ferry Terminal at 1am when I was stuck there. They made me feel welcome and gave helpful tips for exploring the Sunshine Coast. I followed Sagar’s suggestion and stayed a bit longer to better explore the area, it definitely worth it. Would happily recommend staying here. I’ll definitely come back again next time!

Did not get the chance to stay at the hotel due to major ferry backlog and police advising not to travel. Host (Muiz) was more than happy to refund the cost due to the circumstances. Pleasant to deal with. Will definitely be booking in the future but likely not on a long weekend.

Location is great, but the rooms are not that nice, they have done some cheap renovations on them. The beds were comfortable but the other furniture in the room was not and it was old. it was cold while we were there and cold air was coming in around the door the whole time we were there. The kitchenette was not very useable and wasn't well stocked with dishes. We had a room with a view of the ocean, but they are very close to the highway, so it was hard to sleep due to traffic noise. I would bring ear plugs if you plan to stay there.

I have a 14-and-a-half-year-old Labrador who has bone spurs that compress her nerves, making it difficult for her to climb stairs. The hotel front desk staff were very enthusiastic and helpful, giving me a ground-floor room. My car was parked right in front of the room, and the flooring inside was a combination of tiles and carpet, making it completely non-slip—absolutely perfect! I brought my own dog bed and towels.

The hotel room looked newly renovated, very modern, and exceptionally clean. The showerhead had strong water pressure, making for a very comfortable shower experience!

I believe I will choose this hotel again next time!

My room had no blinds or curtains—just a screen, so the room was very bright at night. To make matters worse, the screen was disgusting, splattered with god knows what. And because I was on the ground floor, people constantly walked by, making it impossible to feel any sense of privacy. This could’ve easily been fixed with proper window coverings, but when I reported the issues to the staff, they couldn’t have cared less. They barely muttered an apology before walking away, completely indifferent. Also, the extra blanket in the room was covered in hair—clearly, no one bothered to clean it. The sheer neglect and complete lack of basic customer service was beyond frustrating. This place clearly has no respect for its guests, and I’ll definitely be looking to stay elsewhere next time.
