Redwood Motel - Yorkton, Saskatchewan

I spent a week there, at first it seemed nice. But there's a second door inside the room for the staff. They would only choose to come inside the room, with no knock, abruptly just as I was mid coutius, I told the foreign lady to please leave. But continued to ask us what we needed. We both responded with PRIVACY!! when we said , she smiled and handed us toilet paper and coffee . So without missing a beat we kept going and finished with the foreign lady clapping and smiling and congratulating us .this happened at least once a day. The other guests in the motel were constantly fighting and arguing over who would go to the liquor store while they waited for their "plug" . I seen 10 different ppl leave in an ambulance and come back swearing at their significant other who is always sporting either a fresh shiner or missing teeth . With kids in grade school still in saggy pampers talking about their proud of them. Random dogs are always around and getting bumped by cars , at least once a day. The loudest yelp would always make us twitch. The TV volume would either be too loud or not loud enough, the remote was missing most or the buttons , and we had to lift the door on one side so it would close properly. One night a scabby faced wide eyed flat nosed gentleman decided to kick the already broken door open and try to Rob us. I left him in a pool of his own, in the parking lot. Fully expected the RCMP To show up but never did. The motel was a bad choice but the cheapest in town...if you like needles, you'll be In for a pleasant surprise. Their EVERYWHERE, THE room smelled of pee. The dresser had missing drawers and the shower only had two setting really hot or too damned cold. Either not enough pressure, or cutting the skin fast. But otherwise livable

The 1st thing I noticed was the smell of Marijuana even before we got out of the truck. While we unloaded our luggage, my small well behaved & obedient Shih Tzu sniffed around close by. The night manager walked by with his pit bull on a leash, snapping about rules that ALL dogs must be on a leash because if HIS dog gets loose & hurts someone else's dog, it's THEIR fault! All the while, HIS dog, obviously not trained or obedient, was pulling him HARD to get at my dog. After 10 hrs on the road, I was in no mood to be spoken to in his tone or snapped at about how "it's the #1 rule here" ! So, we had it out in front of the day manager whom I'm assuming was the owner. It's not good to have ANYBODY working in the hospitality business, speak to customers the way he did....not to mention that he was not dressed appropriately (scruffy & unkept) & brings his PITBULL to work!! One of the bed covers had holes in it, was stained & didn't smell fresh. The bathroom was in need of repair & the water had a bit of an unpleasant smell. Still not sure if we're staying at this writing as we've already unpacked a lot of luggage.

Great little spot. We rolled through town and needed a place to crash for the night. The staff was super friendly. The room is super nice and was warmed up for us to get in there.

You can park right in front of the room keep an eye on the truck hundred percent recommend

It’s like entering a Time Machine and going back to the 70’s. Also had to keep the bathroom door closed because it smelled like sewage back up.
Highly recommend taking your own bedding and pillows as the sheets were stained and the bedspread was badly stained. I would also bring your own towel. The outdoor bulb was not working so pretty dark. No clock in the room. And about one plug in.

Very clean older motel. Very quiet. Updates done in rooms. Owners Very friendly and helpful. Cost efficient. I would highly recommend it for the budget traveler and would stay there again. Easy walk to Tim's or breakfast across the street. Co op gas ⛽️ beside motel. Yorkton easy to find way around and has all you need.

Quiet and comfortable, was the perfect place to stay, and reasonably priced. I’ve been here before, almost every year the past 3 and never had a bad experience. Beds are clean and soft, washroom was always clean which is huge for me. The staff were nothing but polite & respectful when waking me up, (I accidentally slept in more than once past check out, or running late packing) especially the lady at the front desk. She’s a super kind sweet lady, I always look forward to greeting her. “Miss Stevie Rae!” only my mother calls me that. Makes it a bit extra special because I don’t see my mom often. I’ll recommend the hotel to anyone, I’ll be back again. ☺️

No frills motel with super comfy beds.
Cheap compared to most in the area. Room had a fridge and coffee pot too! I have no complaints. Friendly folks too.

This hotel was a life saver for me and my family. We arrived in Yorkton way too late during a bad storm and were in desperate need of a hotel room. The front desk lady was so kind and even gave me extra blankets. The room was small but everything worked just fine and the water pressure was good 😊 Thank you again
