While most of it was under construction, they had a room for us when we needed it! It sounded like trains were nearby, so I was glad to have earplugs. Also, there were no soaps, shampoo, or coffee/tea in the room. Fortunately, we had brought our own soaps and there was an excellent cafe right next door so we didn't mind.

I mean, it was kind of the bottom end of what you might expect. It wasn't disgusting or anything, pretty clean and whatnot, but for the price? Spend the extra $20 and go somewhere else. You won't regret it

The man at the front desk accused me of smoking inside and said he was going to fine me because I butted out my smoke and brought it inside. Sat there arguing with him for 10 minutes but he was to dense to understand. Said “I have to pay” for a fine or something and I said “if you want to fine me then contact a bylaw officer, it won’t hold up legally.” and walked out cause I was tired of arguing. Very unprofessional.

We came to Kinsway Inn by asking the taxi driver to take us to a reasonably priced hotel.
The only way to describe this place is hell on earth, dirty run down and full of people on substance abuse.
Went to bed at 9pm and woke up an hour later by a strong odour of curry coming out the ventilation duct , went immediately to the front desk to complain and saw a man cooking food behind the front office.
After an hour of demanding our money refunded they agreeded to give us another room.
This is a disgrace to defraud customers in such a way, go and sleep in the park instead.

Worst motel I’ve ever stayed. By far the dirtiest, most run down place around Thunder Bay. Stole my $200 deposit because I covered up part of the vomit that had still not been cleaned up with their towel. Owners are nuts and a pain to deal with - STAY AWAY. I would’ve rather slept outside for free and been happier!!

This was disgusting hotel. All other hotels were booked so this was a last resort for a room. They say A/C but it’s a central unit which did not run all night/ so none in the room. Walls are paper thin so you hear everything from the other room. Room not properly clean as there was leftover food in the microwave. Hair in bedsheets. When checking out I noticed all my credit card information written down in a book at the front desk where everyone can see. I made the attendant to erase it. Not a good experience and not recommended for anyone to stay. The only good thing is that did not jack up the prices like all other hotels in TBay, when there is a special event on.

Pre-pandemic this was an acceptable basic pet friendly motel run by pleasant people. Today (July 2022) the only thing that remains the same is that it is pet friendly, for a fee. The new owners appear to want to take out as much money for as little going in. As such it is not clean; my bathroom floor was sticky and the bathroom window, the only one that opened, was greasy. Despite the no smoking signs (does that reduce insurance?) smoking is permitted in the doorways and the furniture is cigarette burned from earlier days. I complained about my room but could not change because they were fully booked. Yet for 25 rooms, when I took my dog for an early morning walk, there were only 14 cars in the parking lot. Judging from some of the other guests I saw, I suspect the new owners are paid by the city to provide accommodation for homeless people. Hence the rooms were full but not the parking lot. These residents are not going to complain about condition; the city has "solved" a problem and will not upset the apple cart by inspecting, and the owners have a steady easy cash stream without needing to please guests. No coffee maker; no clock, no toiletries; an electric wiring nightmare. Even in the budget category, over priced for what they offer.
