It is one of the landmarks and an iconic building in Cranbrook. Everything is great! You will not feel far from home, from the staff working here to the room I stayed in, it seems like a five-star hotel. And there, General Manager Jim is so accommodating, he makes sure everything you need is served. I also like the Barber Shop that's on the first floor, very classic!

Great little hotel, very nicely appointed older building but fully renovated rooms. Very quiet for being downtown. It is stairs only for the upper floors so some may be put off by it. But hey, you are downtown, nice hotel and nice staff. Would and will stay again, I have stayed here about 5 other times and always a good experience.

We were greeted by the most friendly front desk attendant. He made us feel super comfortable. We only stayed one night and the room was great. Very clean. My only complaint is the lack of a full-length mirror.

We stayed one night at The Baker Hotel. While the overall experience was decent, there were a few issues that impacted our stay. We didn’t receive our check-in code as instructed and ended up waiting over an hour after checkin before eventually calling the front desk to get access to our room, which was a little inconvenient. Later that evening, the fire alarm for the entire building went off while we were in bed, causing everyone to flee outside to wait for the fire brigade to arrive, adding more disruption to our night.

The room itself was very clean, and the king bed was incredibly comfortable—probably one of the best hotel beds we’ve experienced. However, the bedspread was noticeably worn and could use replacing. The clawfoot bathtub was also a standout feature and made for a relaxing end to a long day of driving.

Management could have been a bit more attentive overall, especially considering the check-in issue and the late-night fire alarm. With a little more attention to guest experience, this could be a really great place to stay.

As so many have mentioned, staff is a 10! Incredibly welcoming and helpful. We were in a nouveau queen room on the top floor. Room wasn’t large but had what we needed. Fridge, microwave and coffee maker. I wouldn’t call it a kitchenette as there weren’t utensils or China. Bed was comfy and nice linens. Bathroom was very spacious and nicely appointed. Excellent location. Our room was quiet as it was at the back of the hotel but AC was pretty loud and window didn’t open. I bear in mind though that this a heritage building. Heidout restaurant was amazing and a block away.

We had a great two night stay at The Baker Hotel. Rooms were clean and equipped with coffee makers, microwave, and fridge. Jim was very friendly and helped us out of a jam on a few occasions. I would stay here again!

An art deco-inspired hotel that's tucked away yet comfortable. No elevator, but a kind concierge carried my bag up 2 flights of steps! Very comfy bed and restful night's sleep.

We were in town for a performance at the Key City Theater which is within walking distance of the hotel. We were assigned a smaller room - Room 207. The bathroom was new and very nice. The building is extremely quiet. The bed was comfortably. The lighting in the room was the only deficiency. Two tall bedside table reading lights would fix the problem. Also, chair would be nice. Having a good, but very noisy, pub right downstairs is convenient. And Mac's Place right around the corner is good for breakfast. Our traveling companions had Room 314 which is larger, but doesn't have as nice a bathroom.
