It's a shelter now. It is not a hotel. One of the occupants was really nice and unfortunately he's been looking for a place to live but he can't find anything. They're all taken. He retired about 8 months ago and no place to call home. It sucks and sad

Located in a park like setting the place is in need of some refurbishing. Staff are beyond friendly but rooms are small and cramped but clean. Water pressure is almost too much. A fridge and micro are provided while WiFi is good. There was no A/C in our room. All inside halls with two rooms with outside doors for handicapped. There is a bar here but is was quiet. Plenty of parking with all restaurants meaning a drive. Out the back is a wooded area with a waterfalls and hiking trail. Not the ritz but decent accommodation at a reasonable price not far from downtown St. John's

We stayed at the Greenwood Lodge and Motel for a night before catching the bus to Deer Lake. We chose it as it was economical and the surroundings sounded pleasant. The motel is set on a large, green piece of property. It clearly is a 2 star motel but interestingly quirky. The service was prompt, friendly and helpful. We were able to walk to a lovely restaurant (Redrock Bar and Grill) and Starbucks. Tim Hortons was also nearby. Our room was large enough, and had a large flat screen TV, microwave and mini fridge. The bathroom had a bathtub with plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The window opened for fresh air. There were extra pillows and the bed was decent.||However, there was no included breakfast, breakfast on site or even coffee fixings available. No wake up call was available. The small radio/alarm had a missing volume dial, so it was stuck on "loud".

We rented the two bedroom cabin in the back for five days . There is a small bar in the basement but we didn't hear any noise from there at all as it just serves a few locals. Maybe the person who complained about drunks was staying at another motel because the only noise I heard was from the fridge humming in my cabin. We had a view and use of a huge yard with a stream in the back of the property. There was a small deck with a table for us to sit out.||Everything was supplied, micro, fridge, stove, dishes and even t-towels. The cabin was older and could use a few updates but it was spotless and served our needs as we were there only to sleep. We plan to go back to NFLD and hope to stay here again. Internet connection was one of the best that we had at any of the places that we stayed in our three weeks in NFLD. The front desk service was friendly and very helpful.

Although clean enough, this premises provides only the absolute bare necessity in room amenities. The room we had was one double bed, one dresser, one desk, one chair for the desk. The room did have a tv, mini fridge, microwave but no coffee maker for coffee and the glasses left were plastic cups for tap water. The bed was not comfortable but then that's a personal preference for each. There were extra pillows but no counter space in the bathroom for personal amenities. Pleasant personnel. The picture of the motel is accurate but rather misleading in as much as most rooms are internal rooms. My altogether rating is a good 3. All rooms have window air conditioners which work well for the room size, however, we had a good rainfall one evening in our week, and the air conditioner leaked terribly.

I’m very happy to recommend the RiverWalk Hotel & Suites (seems it's in the process of a name change) to anyone looking for an inexpensive, clean and comfortable quiet base for exploring the Avalon Peninsula. I stayed there for 7 nights in May during my first - and solo - visit to Newfoundland where I knew no-one. I’m a light sleeper at the best of times, and wanted a place where I would feel safe, and could be sure of getting a good sleep every night. ||The RiverWalk was just what I wanted. Friendly, helpful personnel who made sure I had the quietest room: 2nd-floor, end of hall, #11. The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed, a mini-fridge and microwave, and a big window that opened onto greenery and the sound of the little river nearby. Flat-screen tv, radio alarm clock, internet, and the shower all worked fine. A bonus: nice thick drapes that let me wake up after the sun.
||The place was easy to find, 15 minutes to St. John’s, far enough off the main road to be quiet, surrounded by parkland, and gave access to a pretty riverside trail that I happily followed one evening.
 ||For me The RiverWalk was a real find and I’m looking forward to my next visit.

About 20 minutes from the airport and downtown. This hotel is very affordable, but don't expect the best experience. My room had paint chipping everywhere. Bathroom door lock didn't work. If you're looking for someone to just sleep and on a budget, this motel is perfect. If you plan on lounging and want something comfortable, you might want to look elsewhere.

The owner is very friendly and goes above and beyond to make you stay enjoyable.||The rooms have a fridge, microwave and are very clean . The lounge is very relaxing and if you enjoy playing games of chance to pass the time, they are aviable . We really enjoy our stay, and will be returning.
