We recently had the pleasure of a great two night stay at the Maple Rise Guesthouse overlooking Maple Bay. If you are planning to spend some time in this area of Vancouver Island, then we cannot think of a better place to stay for a relaxing and central base to tour the area. The accommodations are excellent, well designed and spotlessly clean. Each of the three units has its own small patio area and the shared patio area for dining overlooks a beautiful garden area with plenty of hummingbirds, butterflies and birds coming to the feeders and flowers. The breakfasts provided were well thought out and delicious. The hots, Lauren and Gerry, are friendly, helpful and very accommodating without being intrusive. The only thing to be aware of is that there are about ten steps down from the parking area to the units that may present a bit of a problem for anyone with a serious mobility challenge. We highly recommend the Maple Rise guesthouse.

This was our second stay at the Maple Rise Guest House. We have stayed in Rm 1 and Rm 3 and found them equally as comfortable and well equipped. The patio for Rm 1 has the better view of Maple Bay, but the patio for Rm 3 is sunnier. Both lovely spots to enjoy the delicious breakfasts along with your morning coffee! We would not hesitate to stay again, or recommend. Thanks again to our great hosts!

Wonderful guest house! Room was lovely - great decor, comfortable bed. Patio very nice. Super parking. Breakfast was soooo good - professionally presented, super tasty, generous. Lauren checked in on us and is a very personable lady - very nice. I highly recommend this guest house!!

We had a wonderful stay! The room was beautiful, the king bed was very comfy and the bathroom was very well appointed with a great tub and separate shower. The view of the water and garden from our room and patio was also beautiful. It was so peaceful and relaxing sitting out on the patio. The breakfast was amazing each morning and so delicious. The first night we were there we walked down to the Shipyard Restaurant & Pub for dinner and really enjoyed our meal out on the patio overlooking the marina. We were up island for a family wedding at Birds Eye Cove and the location of this guesthouse was perfect for this - just a 3 minute drive down the road. The hosts are a lovely couple who go above and beyond to make sure you have a wonderful stay. Thank you so much Lauren & Gerry!

This place is fantastic! Lauren was the perfect host who welcomed us with warmth and exceptional hospitality.

Our family was there for a wedding so there was lots of activity and Lauren was a big help in ensuring our families could stay together for this special event. She was accommodating with an early check in time, as well as flexible breakfast times due to the wedding schedule.

The breakfast was amazing, view spectacular, and the rooms cozy and charming. Everything we needed was there.

We hope to come back again when it isn't such a busy time and enjoy the gardens and scenery.

Maple Rise Guest House, located in Maple Bay, is an ideal place to stay while you explore Vancouver Island’s Cowichan Valley. Three beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable rooms occupy the lower level of this modern build with spectacular views of Maple Bay. A well equipped kitchen is available on this same level for guests.
Breakfasts each morning consisted of both a savoury & a sweet… delicious and beautifully presented.
Would we recommend you stay here… absolutely!

We attended a wedding at Bird's Eye Cove and were very happy with our choice to stay at the Maple Rise Guest House. It's a short drive to the venue and all of the great marinas/restaurants in the area. The suite is impeccably clean and quiet, with a comfortable bed and beautiful terrace. Breakfast was outstanding.

The hosts are lovely, and were super accommodating when I discovered (the morning we were set to arrive) that I had mistakenly booked in for the following weekend. Would highly recommend Maple Rise for your next visit to the Duncan area.
