There are truly no words to describe our trip to the Collins House B&B. When we were making our plans to visit Vancouver and Salt Spring Island and read the reviews for the Collins House B&B at first I didn’t believe they could be that true. Well it was better than that. When we first started planning the trip I emailed the owner, Dal, and he was unbelievably helpful in getting the dates we wanted. We were a family of 6 and needed 3 rooms and he was so helpful in our planning, also taking time to give us information including the best place to get on and off the island and where to rent a car. From the moment we arrived and met Dal and Solveig, we felt like they were family. || Their house was lovely. My husband and I stayed in the Sunrise suite and it was beautifully decorated and had lovely art work all over. We are from NYC and travel often, and we never get rooms this big. It had an area with a couch and chairs to relax and an area to eat with a refrigerator, microwave and table. They deliver breakfast the night before and it was unbelievably delicious. They deliver danish, fresh organic yogurt and cut up fruit daily. There was fresh honey, homemade jam, cereal and granola were in the cabinets, and juice, milk, soda, seltzer and butter were in the refrigerator. The yogurt was so delicious and creamy we asked Dal what yogurt it was and he said that he strained the yogurt in advance. That is the type of people they are - they do that extra touch because they care about their guests. The view was lovely and loved that there were chairs outside the rooms to watch the view of the water with a cup of delicious coffee. The wifi was great better than most hotels we stay in. || Besides loving staying with them, they are also on the Salt Spring Island Studio Tour - #9. Solveig is an artist and we so enjoyed looking at her work. Our youngest daughter is an artist and truly enjoyed spending time with Solveig. We bought one of her pieces and have it hanging in our home. Every time we look at the painting we think of Solveig and Dal and smile. || I will add that I lost a very special necklace while touring the island. Dal gave me a local website and told me that I could post asking if anyone found it to call Dal. I was so surprised that about 2 weeks after we got home I got an email from Dal saying that the necklace was found in a store. Dal went to get it and they mailed it back to me with a lovely note from Solveig inside. There are no words to accurately portray this lovely couple. || We travel all over with our kids and we all said this was a trip of a lifetime that we will never forget, and it was because of Dal and Solveig’s wonderful hospitality. We enjoyed spending time talking with them. They are truly lovely people. We told them we will be back to Salt Spring Island just because of them and their lovely house.
