We took a fabulous trip on the Frances Barclay, a traditional ship built in 1958. The ship takes a day to cruise between Part Alberni and Bamfield. We saw amazing scenery and spent an hour exploring Bamfield, a unique settlement at the start of the inlet.

Amazing and fun day. Definitely worth taking, it's a full day trip to Bamfield and back. The food on board was amazing as well. Definitely recommend it to everyone.

We recently went on the Lady Rose and it was a great experience. The staff that run the boat are very courteous and friendly.

If you don't want to pack a lunch, the galley below serves great food for a decent price. Breakfast was awesome. Bring cash though for food as that's all they accept.

Depending on the amount of freight they need to drop, you can stay in Bamfield for 1-2 hours. The boardwalk is nice, but I wished I had time to go see Brady Beach. The general store has pretty much everything you want and they do accept debit

Overall, an awesome trip for a very fair price.

Our group of 4 ladies had chosen the BEST day to sail on the beautiful Frances Barkley.
From getting our welcome, purchasing our tickets and boarding, then having breakfast cooked by Chris..
SO GOOD.
Our sailing was smooth, comfortable seating both inside and outside.
Once the fog lifted, it was very soothing, listening to the throb of the engine, seeing the sights and being told what we were looking at.
A map was provided of the route.
Having over an hour in Bamfield, in glorious sunshine was a perfect layover.
Watching the crew offloading the cargo was interesting.
Our sailing back to Port Alberni was enjoyable.
The Captain and Crew are absolutely Charming.
A Huge 🙌 for a lovely day out.

Wow! If you haven’t experienced this ocean day trip to Bamfield, phone them up and make a reservation. All staff were exemplary. The chef gets special mention as my brekkie sandwich was hot and so very tasty!

We did the special Sunday tourism trip to West Bamfield. Definitely worth going.
Food on the ferry was great and the chef gave us some tips on things to do when we got to Bamfield.

A group of friends spent a stellar day aboard the Frances Barkley yesterday. From the moment I reserved our spots, to the time we disembarked, the staff and crew treated us exceptionally well.

The scenery was breathtaking and the captain pointed out places of special interest as we passed, as well as taking us closer to wildlife in order to get better photos. We were treated to viewing several sea lions basking in the sun and enjoyed listening to them bark.

We had delicious and reasonably priced breakfasts and lunches on board. It was fun watching freight getting unloaded onto a homemade barge — reminding us the Frances Barkley provides a valuable service to the people of the Port Alberni inlet. We also enjoyed an hour walk around Bamfield before our return to Port Alberni.

All in all, a fabulous day! Thanks to everyone at the Lady Rose Marine Services!

We went on the trip from Port Alberni to Bamfield via remote communities to drop off suplies. The scenery was spectacular and so was the wildlife viewing. (4 humpback whales, Black bears on the shoreline, numerous sea lions and Bald eagles). The boat stopped at Bamfield for an hour and a half which was time enough to sample the delights of this historic and beautiful little community. The Captain provided relevant local information en route which enhances the trip. The boat provides basic food and a bar for refreshments throughout the day trip. We were lucky as well with the weather providing a brilliant relaxing adventure.
