This property is grossly misrepresented. The host was rude, the house was damp. I cannot describe how damp it was. The grass was not cut and a lawn chair broke nearly injuring a senior citizen.

We stayed at Holdsworth House for two nights in at the end of May. The house is a true gem and was lovingly restored to former glory by the hosts Margaret and Tony. They have kept the historic charm of the house. Upon arrival Margaret gave us a little tour of the home and it was really interesting to hear about the history of this old building. ||||We stayed in the Mable Room which was decorated with lots of attention to detail. It has twin beds and an en-suite bathroom with bath tub. The whole house is decorated with antiques and items that the hosts stumbled across during renovation which makes the atmosphere a truly special one. It is a real treat to have breakfast in the cozy old-times kitchen. The food is truly delicious too and the big dining table is ideal for long breakfast chats. ||||The house is also conveniently located for exploring Digby as restaurants are within easy walking distance. We were not very fortunate with the weather but the B&B was the perfect place for us to come home to after a rainy day along Digby Neck. ||||Margaret and Tony are great hosts, eager to get to know people and equally eager to spread their knowledge about the historic property that they live in. We really enjoyed our long conversations with them. A third family member has to be mentioned as well. The friendly family dog is a real sweetheart, too. ||||All in all we really enjoyed our stay in this cozy and very special B&B. All the best to Margaret, Tony and dog Bumpy 🙂

We stayed at Holdsworth House for 3 days whilst on holiday in Nova Scotia and had a great time. Margaret and Tony were fantastic hosts, full of historical information about the house and good advice on where to visit and what and where to eat. Margaret also sorted out our whale watching trip for us, which was brilliant. The breakfasts were delicious and the rooms were lovely with lots of interesting books and ornaments. We really enjoyed our stay.

What a great place to stay! We were there on June 27. The hosts, Margaret and Tony, were excellent. They made us tour the house, which is a very interesting place, gave us lots of interesting information about the area and recommended a great place for dinner. The breakfast was also excellent. We were in the blue room (I forget the name) with our daughter and slept very well. The B&B is also well situated, in a quiet part of town but within walking distance of everything. We'll go back to Digby and stay at the Holdsworth House again for sure!

Wir waren Mitte Juni für eine Nacht in Holdsworth House. Wir wurden von Margret und Tony sehr herzlich aufgenommen. Margret hat uns sehr viel über die Geschichte des alten Hauses und auch des Ortes erzählt. Die Gastgeber sind sehr authentisch und pflegen den Geist dieses Hauses. Es ist ein bisschen leben wie im Museum oder in einer früheren Zeit. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker.

We stayed here for one night on our tour of Nova Scotia. Margaret and Tony were very friendly, gave us drinks on the deck and told us all about the history of the house and what they had done to recreate it in the style of the period in which it was built.||||The rooms are large and comfortable with lots of little historical touches. The breakfast was superb and takes place in a period kitchen.||||Very reasonably priced and Margaret was very helpful throughout the booking process.||||Highly recommended.

Eight of us were guests at Holdsworth House this summer. The home is lovingly preserved and chock-a-block full of historical artifacts. Margaret and Tony no longer run the cafe but Margaret cooked an authentic Digby dinner over the fireplace for us. Margaret also gave us a tour of her home, which really is a museum that is habitable. ||||Be prepared to go with the flow. Margaret has a big personality and doesn't hesitate to call out a guest for being impolite (ironically I consider myself to generally be a very polite person). This she did to me and it was embarrassing. I am not used to being embarrassed in front of my family and that one uncomfortable experience is the one that most sticks in my mind. ||||Tony is a great guy and to an extent the ying to Margaret's yang. Very laid back, a gentle soul. ||||In summary, you will have an interesting and enjoyable stay at Holdsworth House. Embrace its uniqueness and you will have an absolutely memorable experience.

My six children and I rented Holdsworth House for a week. Margaret and Tony were wonderful and left tons of good food for us. Not knowing how hospitable they were, we brought tons of our own but it was great they offered. ||Margaret gives you a great tour of the House and explains the depth and historical minutiae of the place. After that, it's hard not to fall in love with the old house. It's 300+ years old but it has most modern conveniences. We loved it.||The backyard has superb view of the water and the little deck and BBQ grill got excellent use from us. There is a trail to walk on for miles in the back of the property. We walked from the House everywhere into town as well. Neighbours were quiet. The place is wonderful. ||We loved the Digby area. The people were marvellously friendly. ||It was a perfect spot to make a base as we explored the Nova Scotia side of Funds. We travelled up and down from Yarmouth to Wolfville and had a great time. We'll go back. And we'll go back to Holdworth House without hesitation.
