Très belle lieu. Les challet on besoin de travail mais les nouveaux propriétaires semble près pour le challenge. Ils sont très sympas et près à donner toutes les informations nécessaires sur le site et la région pour faire des belles souvenirs.

We had a lovely time with two nights in cabin 6. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. It’s rustic but that’s what you expect at a cottage up north. The owners are lovely. They don’t speak much English but we communicated well enough and they checked in to see if we were happy. I can see how complainers would be frustrated with the language barriers but I think we’ve all read those negative reviews and know what kinds of people write those. Linens are provided but you should definitely pack some extra blankets, pillows and towels. The beds are super firm which freaked me out at first as I often sleep on my side but gave me an awesome nights sleep after all. Check in and out was simple. Email communication made that easy. Thanks so much for a great getaway!

First I would like say that we did have a great time. Our company made this vacation for us and the kids. |The beach is great and the kids enjoyed catching frogs and fish. It was great to have use of the kayaks and paddle boards. Buuuuuuut. ||The gentleman who maintains the place doesn’t speak any English which is fine however we were unable to have any concerns discussed or addressed. |Our crew left several voicemails with lakefront resorts and not one call was returned.||There are no instructions, welcome information, anything!||I have been back and forth with them via email and they refuse to call me. And since they won’t answer their phone, email is the only way of communicating and they just blatantly don’t respond to half of them.||There has been zero maintenance on the property since this company took it over and I was just advised that their prices are raising for 2025 which is crazy cuz these cottage are barebones.||If you’re super easy going and ok with terrible customer service,you will probably enjoy this place. You just need to lower your expectations.|| I just expected more since we had been going there with the previous owners and it was a much better experience.

The location is all this place had going for it.||Where do I start? If you are considering staying at Rockwood Carling, Ontario (Georgian Bay) and spending your money there… Run, fast and far. It is NOT worth 1/4 of what you’d spend there.||This past weekend my wife, her parents and I stayed at Rockwood resort. As a kid I helped clean these cabins, but clearly that hasn’t been kept up. Which made it very very easy to ensure it was cleaner than we left it.||We stayed in cabin number 3. There were stains on the linen in the queen sized bed room. The double bed room pillows smelled like mildew/mold. The windows of this cabin had clearly been left open for a long time because there was a thick layer of pollen on everything. We literally cleaned the cabin, before we could “enjoy” it. But that wasn’t the end of the nastiness. Dishes in there were dirty, and the bathroom had black mould in it (shower grout and forming on the wall/wood paneling).||From a safety perspective the black mold needs to be addressed, so does the lack of carbon monoxide detector. To stay in this “resort” at this cabin was almost $400 (after taxes) a night. This will be a resort and cabin I will ignore next time I’m looking to stay somewhere.||The management/maintainer/owner of this property. It’s not entirely his fault but I couldn’t understand him, English is not his first language, nor do I think it is a close second or third. We tried to communicate but it was to no avail.||The fact that a carbon monoxide detector is not present there, and the bathroom has black mold in the walls and shower should be enough to condemn this place. Yet this company, its staff/property managers are making a LOT of money off each little crappy shack.||Rockwood Resort, Lakefront Resorts

Rated based on the fact that we knew what we were booking, it's a cabin. Good view of the lake from the garden. The staff are really nice and helpful. Checking in was a breeze. The beach is nice and also only 15 mins from killbear Park, which has the nicest beaches. The Wifi was good, too.

Property manager is friendly, helpful and always attentive and busy with maintenance. A quiet little gem of a cove tucked away from all the noise. Watch out for the 100 year old ? snapping turtle! This place is better than staying at KillBear. Clean cottages with stove, internet,fridge, hot water, bathrooms and shower. Bring lots of bottled water and things to BBQ and some sleeping bags to use your own bedding and you can just coast through a camping trip with none of the hard work. Totally worth it. I appreciate the canoes, paddle boards, beach and great fire pits. Love this place!

Lots of lost potential here. Great beach for kids. The cottage however was so disappointing... To pay $$ and be greeted by the musty smell, ants all over the kitchen, outdoor fire pit at our site was filthy with cigarettes, pee stain and dog hair in bedroom, but the most unhygienic were the blood stains on the comforter as we made our beds. Made for a chilly first night! I wish I packed sleeping bags and stayed at Killbear for 10% of the cost here. Management is absent to acknowledge valid concerns (but the comforter was replaced!). Great sandy beach for kids, but Killbear Provincial Park has so much more if that's what is important to you.
