Don't let the exterior of this place put you off... it nearly did me. I booked last minute and so the two places I usually stay were all booked up on a long weekend. When I drove in my heart dropped - looked like such a dive. I decided to take a look at the room anyway. It was LOVELY.... so so clean, updated with decent furnishings and pristine linens - the bed was OH SO comfortable. ||||I talked to the manager when I checked out and complimented her on the room. She has worked very hard in the last year to bring the rooms up to these standards. I suggested a couple of cheap additions (full length mirror, luggage rack) and she was very receptive. She also is working on the owners to update the exterior next. Do that and they will have the best little motel in Gibsons. I liked it much better than the other two I usually stay at.||||Only one negative - there was a lot of noise coming from one of the other rooms at 7am on a Sunday morning. Sounded like there was renovation or moving in going on. I asked her about that but she said they had nothing like that happening so no idea what it was. Bring earplugs.

The building has seen better days. But I like the bright bathroom. Now that the owner(s) of the motel around the corner has taken over, I look forward to improvement, seeing how well the new management team runs their other property. The 4 stars for service are for the new management team who did a fantastic job despite having been left with nothing more than the names of arriving guests when the old team left in a hurry (apparently).

This motel is older but well maintained. The room was well kept and clean. The desk clerk was very attentive when we arrived. The kitchenette was small but had everything we needed to cook supper. The location was convenient- right on the highway close to the ferry, but not noisy at all. We were down the road from shops and groceries, and only a short pleasant drive away from most of the activities we wanted to do.

The outside of the building looks tired and in need of paint and repair but our room was clean, spacious, cool and inviting. The young lady at the desk was friendly and check-in was quick and easy. Parking and WiFi are free. To be honest - we had paid twice as much to stay at a fancy "resort" in Pemberton the previous night only to have filthy carpets and sticky floors, threadbare towels and useless staff. Very disappointed but a lesson learned - price and appearances are no guarantee for what you will get. Sunny Crest was perfect for our needs and a great night's sleep.

We are always put off by the price value of accommodations on the Sunshine Coast. Because we travel for personal business, cost is important, but we also enjoy comfort. Our room was renovated, clean and was a good value. It's an older property, so the walls are thin, but aside from that, we were very happy. Danielle at the front desk was accommodating, and even gave us a refund when she realized we didn't get the corporate rate. We will stay again....

The woman at the counter was very friendly, but that's about the only positive thing I will say about this place. There was what appears to be a blood stain on the ceiling above the bed in room 123. The floors did not feel very clean. Walls are thin. Shower doesn't work well at all. For $100 a night I'll stay somewhere else next time

Just came from Vancouver and Harrison hot springs, we left a motel because of horrid conditions and it was 170! This is honestly a clean, nice place for it's price. If youre expecting the Hilton, stay at a Hilton. Bedding is comfy and clean, smelled clean when we walked in and the front desk Danielle was very nice. We enjoy a laid back place where we can enjoy a cigarette and beer outside of our room, if your snobby and can't stand someone quietly enjoying their vacation I guess you wouldn't like it here. Other guests seemed to have our mindset and were visiting outside their rooms respectfully. Could not hear anything when inside our room. I recommend it if you don't have ridiculous expectations.

If you're planning a visit to the lovely Sunshine Coast of BC - this is a very handy hotel and some rooms with kitchenettes. Friendly helpful staff + centrally located between the lower and upper Gibsons amenities and restaurants. Basically an older hotel building, some updates needed but clean & comfortable. Also good parking for vehicles with bikes / sports trailers.
