I hadn't been horse riding in close to 25 years, and wasn't sure if I would like it as much as I remembered it. Long story short, I liked it MORE than I remembered!

The Leghorn Ranch is stunning to begin with. The stables and the surrounding buildings are well kept, and have a very picturesque backdrop of the mountains to the north of Vancouver.
The staff are warm, welcoming, and very friendly. They do a riding lesson before your trail ride, and made very sure that I was comfortable on the horse that I was going to be riding.
The horses are so sweet, and very well behaved. I rode Moonshine, and he was just lovely. As an added bonus, the stable is full of Barn Swallows, so if you are at all into bird watching, you can delight in seeing them flit to and fro. Also, there was a VERY friendly black cat that sauntered out of the corn field surrounding the stables and came up to me and said hello. It was such a joy.

I signed up for the one hour trail ride, due to the aforementioned gap in my riding experiences, though there is a two hour option available, which I will most likely be indulging in on my future visits. The price is very reasonable for the one hour ride, and the two hour ride is actually a much better value as it is only marginally more expensive even though it is twice the length of ride.
The trail itself is not directly attached to the ranch, so you need to follow their truck that hauls the horses to the trail, but once there it is very beautiful and relaxing.

I could go on and on, but I will simply end with this statement. This trail ride is WELL worth the time and money to engage in, and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who needs some time away from the hustle and bustle of their daily life. I WILL DEFINITELY be coming back.

The horses were well behaved and the ranch hands knew their stuff. The scenery was nice and the weather was good. I was a little disappointed that the ride was mostly on a dirt road and multi use dirt path. We shared most of the ride with bicyclists, walkers, runners, and a baby stroller. Riding single-file the entire ride, reduced the opportunity for discussions with our party and with our lead. I assume the "single-file rule" was due to the shared use path. The "river crossing" was really a creek crossing (15' wide x 6" deep). Maybe the river runs better other times of the year. We were The advertisement definitely oversold the wilderness aspect. We were riding between blueberry and cranberry fields most of the ride.

booked a horse ride for my husband’s birthday, and it was perfect! The staff were friendly, the horses were calm and well-trained, and the trail was beautiful. Even as beginners, we felt safe and had a great time. My husband loved it — such a unique and memorable gift. Highly recommend!

We had such a great time at Leghorn Ranch! It was my best friend's birthday, and she had planned this for weeks. It was pouring rain, but we went ahead with the ride anyway—and we're so glad we did. As total beginners, we really appreciated the quick, free riding lesson before heading out. Ella and Valorie were absolutely amazing—super patient, friendly, and made us feel completely comfortable. The horses were so tame and easy to ride—I rode Lucky, and he was such a sweetheart! Despite the weather, the trail ride was beautiful and a lot of fun. Huge thanks to the team (and the horses!) for making it such a memorable birthday experience. Highly recommend!

Had an amazing 2-hour horse ride! The staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable throughout the ride. The horses were well cared for and calm, which made a big difference, especially since it was my first time riding! It was surprisingly easy and enjoyable. The trail was beautiful and peaceful, a perfect escape into nature.

Greyson, Jett, Monkey, and Blackie...the horses of course and a family out enjoying the first ride of the year! Shoutouts to the cowfolk looking after those beauties and for being so friendly and fun! Judith, I hope I have spelled that correctly, it was so nice chatting with you on the ride! This was our second time, and a birthday gift from my hubby, and it was a great gift just being in the moment. This is great for those that are just starting out with horse or getting back in the saddle again. Not suited for experienced riders as it may seem dull. On our first visit several years back they offered a dinner after the sunset ride.. I sure do hope they offer that again! Hugs and rubs for Greyson for me and keep up the great work.

Lorraine and Elliot were fantastic tour guides! We went on a beautiful trail ride through Maple Ridge and the views were absolutely stunning. Mo and Tolly were friendly and well behaved. Thanks so much we will definitely be back!

It was such a perfect day! It was my first time riding a horse, but the instructor was so kind and explained everything clearly, which made me feel comfortable right away. The horse was super gentle and adorable too. I got to relax in nature and made unforgettable memories. Highly recommend this place!
