Great little historic spot to visit. Guides are knowledgeable and enthusiastic and the original buildings are worth the tour. The grounds are very nice, with plenty of shade, a picnic area and river access all on a quiet backroad, so plan extra time to enjoy it!

If you have the time, consider pairing it with a visit to Fort George and Buckingham House, 90 minutes east.

A nice historic site that features the past history of Métis people. The site is picturesque and is located right beside the North Saskatchewan River. There are washroom facilities available here. There is lots of parking. This is a hidden gem that my wife and I enjoyed. There is camping and a lodge here if you want to enjoy this beautiful area longer than a day.

We spent an interesting 1 1/2 hours here with a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic interpreter. He painted a vivid picture of the settlement from Methodists to trappers to settlers.
Bring cash as there are no electronic payment methods.

Though small, this is a great little historical site to learn about Alberta's and even Canadas history!

It boasts a well taken care of old church and the oldest building in Alberta still on its original foundation/location. Friendly interpreters and located on the shores of the pretty North Saskatchewan River

Really great historical site. The interpreters there are wonderful and have lots of great information to share. You can play historical games that are a lot of fun. I do think the video is in bad need of redoing, it has a bit too much of “beneficent colonizer” sentiments. The river is lovely to sit by. Great spot.

Nice quiet area. Saw the Edmonton brigade land here for Canada's 150 celebration. Mosquito country however.

Neat place, reminds me of the Rutherford house in Edmonton. Seems interesting, and has lots of great interpretive info, but probably better when it is open.
