I have been to many resorts in tropical and non-tropical places, and this resort stands alone as being remarkable for many reasons. The price of it was not overpriced, and the room itself felt like we were getting much more value out of it than what we paid for.

The service of the employees was always very kind, and everyone was always very patient, happy and accommodating all the time. Being there felt like such a positive environment since everyone always had a fun and joyful disposition.

The dog friendly floor accommodations were fantastic.

The design of the building and the resort as a whole, including the features such as the steam room and sauna were really fun to use.

My husband and I just came back from a trip to Campbell River and we had the most enjoyable time at Naturally Pacific resort. The most commendable thing about this resort is the staff. Everyone was smiling and greeted us wherever we go, whatever they were doing. Another part of the stay we really liked was the size of the room. Even with a king size bed, we had so much space to unpack our luggage, sit down and relax. Nice to have a separate toilet room so we can shower and do use toilet at the same time. Balcony had a partial ocean view (too hot to enjoy but I'm sure it's a nice feature for many people). We are not golfers but enjoyed the pool and other facilities at the resort, like the hot tub, restaurant, and fire pit. We loved fire pit so much and spent hours just sitting and sipping our drinks, watching the sun set over the golf course. We are definitely going back and already planning our next visit!

I want to start with the positives:
The resort has beautiful, modern facilities, excellent customer service, and thoughtful amenities for dogs—including a fantastic dog run. The spa is absolutely out of this world and one of the best I’ve experienced.

That said, my overall stay for my birthday was disappointing, mostly due to booking issues that could have been avoided.

I chose this resort after doing my research because it seemed very pet-friendly, boasting dedicated dog amenities. I loved the idea of relaxing on the pool deck with patio drink service, and the spa looked incredible. My plan was a special weekend away with my mom and my 20lb pug.

Wanting a comfortable, spacious room where I could sleep in on my birthday, I booked the executive suite and selected “bringing a dog” during the reservation process. Nowhere on the website did it clearly state that this room type was not pet-friendly, and the booking system allowed me to proceed without warning. I was genuinely excited about this trip for weeks.

After driving three hours to the resort, I was told at check-in that dogs were not permitted on the executive suite floor. We were asked to wait while a manager (in a meeting) was consulted. Eventually, I was informed that I could only stay in a downgraded room with either one king bed or two queens. I accepted the king bed, but the disappointment lingered—it wasn’t the birthday experience I had planned. Had I known in advance, I could have adjusted my expectations, arranged alternate care for my dog, or chosen a different resort altogether.

I truly don’t understand why:

- The website doesn’t clearly indicate which rooms are/aren’t pet-friendly.
- The system allows pet bookings for non-pet rooms.
- This issue wasn’t caught until the moment I arrived.

To their credit, the staff did their best to make things right, offering a bottle of wine and a $100 dining credit, which I appreciated. Still, the overall trip felt overshadowed by that initial frustration.

Other notes:

Dinner service on the sunset patio was underwhelming. My mom and I ordered the surf and turf sandwich ($42), which arrived missing prawns because “the grill was too hot.” We waited 10 minutes for them, and even with the “extra prawn” added, the total was only three. I would have preferred a better prawn-to-steak balance for the price. The steak was great.

The pool area is lovely with poolside drink service, but it would be nice to have designated adult-only hours.

More accessible seating (armless chairs) on the sunset patio would be a welcome improvement. I noticed that there were no armless chairs at Carve as well.

The spa alone would make me consider returning, and I would happily become a repeat guest if clearer communication on pet-friendly room options and a few service improvements were made.

This hotel is a few minutes from busy downtown CR and is in a residential area connected to a golf course. The city side view is great and includes the water with cruise ships and ferrys plying the waterways. We dined at both restaurants and both were equally enjoyable with good service and delicious food. The room was clean, quiet and loaded with all the latest tech stuff. The pool, sauna and steam room were clean and neat and the outdoors had a myriad of sitting areas to lounge in. One drawback and it's not a big one is if you don't find a parking spot in the front then you have to park in the back 40 which is a short walk from the lobby.|Overall, we were very impressed and will be back.

Fabulous stay, room was nice but thought we booked a larger room. Server in the hotel restaurant was slow and never checked on us. Thought the price of drinks at the pool was a tad high compared to in the restaurants almost $6 more each for the same drink. Golf was fabulous but expensive for all the grounds crew on the course, we had to go around them on many holes. Most staff were fabulous. Pool hours were good but it was filled with kids till 11pm, there should be a kids time. Loved that the hotel takes dogs but they should be all on the 1st floor, so people that go for a getaway without kids and dogs don't have to listen to either during their stay.

We stayed here for six nights and the entire experience was flawless. Everything was spotless, inside the building and out. Our room was very comfortable and the golf course/mountain view from our balcony was fantastic.

We had three meals and they were all delicious. We also appreciated the wait staff visits while relaxing at the fire pits in the evening.

This resort costs more than any other places in town but it appeared by far to be the nicest. If it fits in your budget, Naturally Pacific Resort is well worth it!

Truly a resort. Great experience all around from room to grounds to fine dining at Carve. Casual food at Velocity was also good. Fire pit areas very well done with several of them. Pool and sauna plus steam room great. On-site gym not busy so enjoyed it. Service way above average.

Beware. The “ocean/city view” is overlooking the parking lot, the main thoroughfare and a new housing development’s construction. Think noisy and not worth sitting on the deep balcony. ||Food? Skip Carve, the overpriced fine dining ($25 for a bowl of seafood chowder, $26 for a caesar salad + $16 if you wish to add grilled chicken to the salad.) Try the golf bar Velocity for decent food at reasonable prices. ||The wet area - pool, hot tub, sauna are nice but laden with small children most anytime so probably not the relaxing spa experience you might envision at this “resort.”||Staff: super nice and thoughtful.
