We stayed here overnight for my husband’s birthday and Steamers was just the perfect place. A good value for our money as it was affordable, clean, comfortable and quiet with charming historic atmosphere and very friendly. Brent, our host was very accommodating and personable and had a lot of knowledge of the building’s history and area. You can tell that the b&b is a labour of love for him and his family and they have taken great care into maintenance of the historic charm of this Regency era house. Their kitty, Mary-Ann (who is a Munchkin breed) was a little doll of a cat! Was as sociable and friendly as a dog and was also a great host! We felt very welcome. ||||Our bed was comfy and our breakfast was large portioned and delicious, as well as our espresso drinks. This place is also licensed if you want to just come in for some nice ale or a cocktail. ||||Parking was easy as there weren’t many guests there other than ourselves, so it was very quiet. I’m not sure how this place would be during high season, however, Gagetown is pretty small and quaint, so I suspect t even in the busiest of months it is still pretty quaint and peaceful, as the house is large and can accommodate a good amount of people without a lot of noise or disturbances (other than an automatic old doorbell that goes off everytime someone walks in or out..). ||Overall, We were pleased in our stay and will be back if we’re ever in Gagetown again overnight. Highly recommend.

My wife and I have often come here with friends/family for cocktails and have loved it. Incredible drinks and a stunning atmosphere. The owners are exentric and have made it truly unique. ||I stayed overnight for the first time with some friends last night and was pleasantly surprised with how well kept and clean everything was. It was comfortable, functional, charming and rustic. The staff/owners were very attentive and accommodating. Very cool spot, would recommend.

They were kind to wait for our late arrival. We got a room with a lovely river view. The house has many interesting features, from high ceilings, wooden strip flooring, wide staircsses, wainscoting and various antiques on each floor. The host was super accommodating & served a breakfast of our choice. As we were "off season", the check in / out times were flexible.

We stayed at this lovely early 20th century mansion/Bed & Breakfast on July 16th on our way by Jeep from Vancouver to Newfoundland.
Brent, the host, was a delight and a plethora of information about the house, the history and of the community. He let us borrow some informative books on the history of paddle wheelers and stern wheelers the plied the waters of the St. John river through history. The bed was very comfortable, the tub/shower a nice clawfoot affair and the breakfast, cooked by Brent himself, was wonderful. A wonderful stay at an amazingly restored century home and, our cat loved it too! (yes, these folks are pet friendly and have a nice old cat on the premised as well.
We would definitely stay here again!

We stayed one night at Steamers as we were in need of a room after driving all day from western Quebec. We booked a room based on recommendations from others. On arrival, we were cordially met and showed our room by the owners' son. He also provided information regarding a nearby restaurant for dinner - good suggestion. We did know that the B&B did have cats (READ THE FINE PRINT IN THE DESCRIPTION), but generally cats in other B&Bs we've stayed at don't have the run of the house as these did. Fortunately they did not trigger my allergies as we slept. The building is a nicely maintained old inn with nice antique furnishings. And we had a nice view of the river from our room. Unfortunately, we didn't have any drinking glasses in our room though they provided bottled water.||Sadly, the owners had their personal belongings scattered everywhere in the common areas. Breakfast was a simple hot meal, filling but not memorable. The cereal bar could have used some refreshing, and fresh fruit could have been made available. They did make a good capuchino.||We did have a nice visit with Gary, one of the owners, and did learn a little about their efforts to operate Steamers; however, we feel they could do a little more with housekeeping to make an average operation into a superior one.
