Reserved a spot on this tour in a whim to see the lake and was thoroughly impressed. Peaceful day on the water. Saw eagles, seals and other seabirds. Ricky (I think that's his name) is a wealth of knowledge about both the lake and the Bell family. Recommend you spend the morning visiting the Bell museum and then take this boat tour in the afternoon to better situated everything you read about.

What a lovely experience! Joined the 2pm tour on June 30, 2025 and it exceeded all my expectations. I highly recommend!

An informative and scenic time out on the water featuring a surprising amount of local wildlife that was marred by the captain harassing a preteen girl (calling her pretty, asking for a kiss, etc). Would have loved to rate the experience higher, but it was pretty uncomfortable throughout because of that.

I don't think the captain had bad intentions, but he definitely should have thought over what he was saying and the impression he was giving off a little more, and I don't think he (or anyone) should be speaking to children like that.

Great captain and team, both funny and informative. Saw bald eagles and seals and learned about the island and the historic homes along the coast. We did the 6pm sunset cruise and got some amazing photos as well!

Highly recommend

We had an incredible experience with Amoeba Tours! Our guide, Caption John, was absolutely fantastic—super knowledgeable, friendly, and made the trip so enjoyable.

One of the highlights was spotting bald eagles and even a nest! It was amazing to get a closer view of an eagle (nicknamed Alex) thanks to the clever use of bait—such a unique touch. The captain and crew were excellent throughout, making sure everyone felt safe, informed, and entertained.

A special moment was when the captain let us try on his dad’s old sailing hat and even guided us through how to sail the boat. He patiently taught us how to navigate and stay on course—it made the experience feel very personal and hands-on.

All in all, it was an unforgettable memory and one we’ll cherish. Highly recommend Amoeba Tours for anyone looking to connect with nature and enjoy a truly special day on the water!

We absolutely loved our tour! The kids sit in the middle of the boat and have appropriately sized life vests. The staff was great with them. The captain spoke English and French. The tour length is about 90 minutes. There is a bathroom below, you will need to get down a steep staircase/ladder to get to it. They let the kids go down and look around, which was really fun for them. I would definitely recommend going and hope to enjoy it again myself.
