We stayed here on our vacation because of the location. It was a quick drive to many restaurants, shopping and the LRT station (which we took to get around Calgary). The hotel was nice and clean, with friendly staff and nice rooms.

Highlights:
- Clean rooms and comfortable beds
- The storage above the toilet for towels was much appreciated!
- Good continental breakfast
- Even though there was busloads of people at the hotel it was quiet

Low-lights:
-The curtains in the rooms were terrible. They didn't close completely, so the morning light came right in - bring a sleep mask!
- We had to leave a note for the staff to refill our hand soap since it was almost empty and not refilled during the first cleaning. This was disappointing.

Side note: The marketing materials in the elevators for the Wingate Hotels show a continental breakfast with donuts. This got our kids excited but of course, it was not true. None of the Wingate hotels we have stayed at have offered donuts so maybe your marketing department needs a check on their choice of images.

Love this hotel! Large rooms, great customer service, from the front desk staff they greet you with a smile, and I love how there are baggage carts at the front door ready for you to use for your luggage. The housekeeping are great to replenish anything that you need in your room . The kitchen staff for breakfast are quick to replenish if anything is running low amazing service. Speaking of breakfast love how breakfast is included you get a choice of hot or cold breakfast or both.!

My one question would be and a lot of hotels do this, but I’m just curious why And who designed the bathrooms? Why have your fresh clean towels stored over top of the toilet? When there is a picture that’s being hung by the showers why not switch those have your clean towels by your shower and put that picture over top of the toilet to me that just seems a lot more clean. This hotel is not the only one that does it, but it’s such a big pet peeve of mine. I would love to know why the designer did this. Just curious.
All in all amazing hotel if you have to stay in Calgary on the southside, do it you won’t be disappointed. We keep coming back all the time.

Large spacious double queen room. Updated with new tub and very clean. Quiet and not much traffic noise. Safe parking lot and seems like a safe neighborhood. Police station and fire station nearby, but not noisy. We stayed two nights and would stay here again.

Worst experience ever for a kids sports team group booking. Save yourself the headache and book somewhere that is kid friendly. Easy to book, most staff was good but hotel policy is literally zero noise. So if you have kids be prepared to get complaints regardless if they are good kids or not. One of the night staff workers I think his name is Andrew. Was over the top. At times felt like he was bullying the kids. Witnessed him multiple times not allowing them to do anything say even just chatting in a group mid afternoon in the hallway outside the event room we had rented for 370 for the day. One kid was stopped and told he could t enter a floor even though that’s where his room was and at one point he tried to tell a boy he could go down the hall and he wasn’t even with our team. lol. When I say over the top I mean it. Do your self a favour and book elsewhere.

Very clean hotel! Room large, very clean and well furnished. Bed was very comfortable. High praise for the housekeeping. The hotel separates garbage (recycling) and uses proper crockery and cutlery for breakfast. This is very good for the environment.

We had an excellent stay at the Wingate by Wyndham in Calgary. The staff was very helpful at all times. Excellent job by the management team here. We were very pleased to see the same people that work at the Wingate when we were here 2 years ago. Keep up the excellent and friendly service you have provided your guests.

Firstly I gave 5he hotel a chance to redeem themselves before writing this review. |Checking in at midnight and it took an hour, after the wait go up to the assigned room with all our stuff and they keys don’t work. So back down again. I mention it’s not someone’s room right? And he laughed and recoded my keys. So my 15 yr daughter old and I go back up again and open the door to see a man laying in bed. He has no pjs on if you get my meaning, so go back down again and say how can this even happen! |They wouldn’t even comp the stay!!!!!!, they screw up that bad and it would cost you nothing but that to make it right with me. Well so not ok to send someone in another persons room at night !!!! |Secondly the hotel is not on a main road at all it’s in a residential area not near anything at all. Would not stay here again for this kind of money there is way better hotels
