We took a ride on the railroad, and it was a great experience. The staff onboard were wonderful, very friendly, and informative. You can choose to ride the whole loop or do a hop on hop off service. It was a cool experience for young and old alike. Also nice music aboard the train.

Had a train ride today….it was fun, full of beautiful scenic views from countryside…it was almost a 2 hr ride round trip…first class chairs were very comfortable and clean…surely coming in Christmas season for the exotic ride…

The ride was smooth, we purchased tickets online. The staff is all volunteers and very nice. They even let us move to 1st class for part of the trip and enjoy the cozy couches. The path was so beautiful both ways to and from Elmira. Highly recommend.

Amazing! A must for family bucket list. Went on the Thanksgiving steam special. It's an enjoyable experience for all ages. The train staff were so friendly and they really make the experience that much more enjoyable. The tickets you purchase go towards keeping these events going and the trains in working order. The staff are all volunteers! Worth every penny!

A fun activity for young kids, to see Santa, and have a ride on an old train. The staff are entertaining. It's better if you go with a group of 4 or 8 so you can have the seating all together for your group.

I recently had the privilege of taking the Christmas Train by Waterloo Central Railway and it was an unforgettable experience. The train was beautifully decorated with lights, garlands, and festive decorations that immediately put me in the holiday spirit.

The ride itself was delightful, with carolers singing classic Christmas songs, and hot cocoa and cookies available for purchase. The scenery along the route was breathtaking, with snow-covered trees and twinkling lights creating a truly magical atmosphere.

The staff was top-notch, always friendly and accommodating, and they went above and beyond to make sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves. They made a special effort to interact with the children on board, adding to the festive atmosphere and ensuring that everyone had a memorable experience.

In addition to the train ride, we could participate in a variety of other holiday-themed activities. This was the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit and it was a treat for children and adults alike.

It was a magical experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun and festive way to get into the holiday spirit. Whether you're a train enthusiast, a family looking for a special holiday outing, or simply someone who loves the holiday season, the Christmas Train is sure to bring a smile to your face and a warm feeling to your heart.

It's really about being more entertaining inside. For example, the tour guide visits every car instead of using the speakers with the microphone and we couldn't even hear him then. The sight is just the river and the rest is nature if you love nature. They should have better music, serve tea or coffee, dress like old-fashioned at least this way you get your money worth. Other than that, if you never took the train and you want to contribute to the Waterloo train station, then get on board.

Sehr nettes und sehr zu empfehlendes Erlebnis. Die historische Eisenbahn (wenn man Glück hat wirklich mit Dampflokomotive) wird von Ehrenamtlichen betreut, die sich gerne auch mal zu einem setzen und sich unterhalten. Man lernt dabei viel über Land und Leute. Zudem gibt es gelegentliche Durchsagen mit Infos über die Landschaft, durch die man fährt. Es ist eine Hin- und Zurückstrecke (KEINE Rundfahrt). Dabei gelten die Karten für alle Stops und Zeiten eines Tages (Hop-on, Hop-off). Sehr zu empfehlen ist die erste Klasse - nicht viel teurer und dabei sehr viel bequemer :D.
