Cheaper and faster than the train 🚆💸⚡. The staff are indifferent to passengers 😑🙍🏿‍♀️. Even though you buy an electronic ticket 💻📱, they still print it out 🖨️🤷🏻. Before boarding, passengers are subjected to bag checks 🎒🔍👮🏿. The bus 🚌 had a musty smell 🤢🌫️, like the ventilation hadn’t been cleaned in ages 🧼❌. There was trash on board 🚮 and none of the power outlets worked 🔌❌⚠️. They do take care when it comes to transporting unaccompanied minors 👦👧🛡️.

It's probably the only regular bus service between Winnipeg and Thompson that I know of. Used them multiple times both ways.
The people are great and courteous - drivers, depot staff, they get a 5 star rating.

The reason I gave the service 2 stars is because their buses are dated, and maintenance is not something they take seriously.

I'm uploading some pictures from my recent trip to give you an idea. The heating wasn't working from the get-go. Winnipeg to Thompson in -29 C! I spoke to the driver during a stop over, but there was nothing he could do.
It is what it is.

More recent bus is good, and bus was clean.
The advertised 110outlets and USB charging ports were not working on the bus I was on. Asked the driver and he couldn’t get it to work. Don’t tease passengers by advertising features that don’t work. (See attached claim from their website…don’t count on it)
Also, the security screening is a chaotic joke. They check your carryon in the terminal and then you go outside and get in the bus. You could leave your carryon outside and pick up your unscreened carryon before you get on the bus outside and they’d have no idea. Ridiculous.

I've been taking this bus for over a year now, they've done as much possible to Mae tbe trips safe an accommodating the staff is wonderful, the newer busses are comfy ! Would recommend

Had really nice long ride from winnipeg to thompson.
Firstly, the temperature on board was absolutely perfect.
And, the seats were also really comfortable.

On the night of December 3, 2024, despite severe weather conditions with strong winds and heavy snow, I needed to travel urgently from Thompson to Winnipeg. I did not expect the NCN bus service to operate under such challenging circumstances. However, to my surprise, the service was available, and the two drivers displayed exceptional professionalism and skill, ensuring a safe journey despite the adverse conditions. I extend my gratitude to the NCN bus service for their reliability and dedication.

Thompson Bus drove our hockey team south for a tournament. Experience was positive. Driver was kind/courteous, always on time for us and accommodating. Bus was clean and comfortable.

Horrible experience everytime. When it was the only option of transportation to wpg the trip was very painful. Really bad customer service upon arriving at the thompson shuttle, and it’s a dreadful mission to board. When riding the bus is very hot or very cold no in between. This service already had two incidents of drivers falling asleep on the ride, and i wouldn’t want anyone to be there when third times the charm.

Go up
