This hidden gem is a takeout only establishment due to its size and one woman run operation. Suni and her incredible food will leave you longing for more. There are 5 star chefs who cannot put the love and spice pairing into their food that Suni does. I long for this food from across the province and have made special trips just for my favourite special, the coconut shrimp curry!
Oh yeah...and the portions feed more than a single meal, definitely the best bang for your buck around!

Looking for tasty food to eat? Are you into meals full of flavour? We’ll look no further: Lamprai and Spice has got you covered!

I came here looking for the infamous Mango Lassi but unfortunately it was out. Instead, I eyed the Mocha almond cheesecake. One of these I will be lucky enough to have a taste!

Sunny the owner is a really welcoming owner. She is just lovely and even gave me a generous portion to try her lunch menu. It was so delicious that I decided to buy a whole combo! It’s full of flavour and is absolutely worth every penny.

The menu changes often and rotates to other delicious savoury cuisines - if you’re curious I would definitely pop my head in and check it out. It is only a dine out option - I would take advantage of this and take my delicious meal to the waterfront on of the many free picnic tables and have the best views in town while digging in on one of Lamprai’s delicious meals.

Would recommend. Would visit again.

We are a SriLankan family travelling to Nova Scotia from Toronto ON. We stopped by to check this place out and were overwhelmed by Sunni’s love and warm welcome! She gave us a sample of her food- as she had almost sold out and it was closing time. The sample was so delicious!!! My kids loved the food and kept talking about it in the car. We were sad that we discovered this place later in the day. The flavour was fantastic! One of the best SriLankan food we have ever had. Better than home cooked food! Thank you Sunni♥️

I visited Lamprai and Spice Café for the second time this month with my family, and it is definitely worth the trek from Halifax to savour Suni's authentic, flavorful offerings. As a lover of spicy, exotic foods, I can say that I was absolutely delighted by the meals she lovingly prepared for my family, and we experienced the full spectrum of her kitchen prowess. We feasted on the three available combos both times: tamarind beef, coconut shrimp and butter chicken. I like my food extra spicy, so she offered me a chili shrimp sambol condiment to accompany my already sublime butter chicken - amazing! The side dishes with their complex spices and ingredients danced on my tongue and made my mouth very happy! To go with our food, we ordered the Sri Lankan iced coffee, which was delicately sweet and creamy and very satisfying - I am in love ❤.

She also showed me her industrial spice grinding machine, where she prepares her two delicious blends: roasted spices for meats and poultry and another curry mix for veggies. I purchased and used both at home, and they are perfect for those nights when you are craving flavour but do not have a lot of time to cook everything from scratch.

Try this Lunenburg treasure - you will love it!

Lamprai & Spice Cafe is hands down our favorite restaurant in Lunenburg. Very unusual to have access to home cooked Sri Lankan food (cooked with love ❤️) in such a small town. Suni is such a sweet and sunny person to deal with, and an unbelievable chef! Delicious/complex flavours and generous portions make this a must stop (2 overflowing plates and a big piece of cake are usually around $ 44). Fantastic value as we usually have leftovers for an addition 1 or 2 meals! There are always vegetarian options availablel. The desserts are also over the top - Suni's cakes are amazing, HUGE pieces/great value... I may never bake a cake again!
