Rented the same apartment with Century 21 for 6 years. Was very happy with the quality of the apartment for the agreed upon price of $800/month.

Rent slowly climbed, about $25/month each year until we were paying $925/month. No major upgrades to the building or the suite during this time.

This past year we were notified our rent was going to increase each month by over $200, bringing our rent to $1200. No upgrades to the building, no upgrades to our unit in the past 6 years. When we asked how they could justify this rent increase the staff claimed that they were just passing along information from higher up. No large projects for the building or our suite on the horizon. Nothing to reflect this large increase of rent.

This company will always put money above the wellness of their renters and do not care if you cannot afford their outrageous and random rent increases.

This is not what good human behaviour looks like. This is not what people-focused services look like. Do not rent from this company. I am not the first to have this complaint and will not be the last unless something changes with their leadership. Very disappointing.

Just went to the office about a policy which was not explained in the rental agreement. There was a male on the reception I asked him that there’s something not written in the agreement. He said I explained it when the agreement was signed. My brother was new to the country so he just signed agreement condition which was not even written in the agreement. When I questioned he said I did explained and he signed if he did not understand that is not my problem!!!!!!!!. He was very rude when I asked him sorry this is bit rude he just got offended and his body language was so aggressive. I do not understand if the tenant has any issues they have to send an email but the most important policy of the rental agreement is just verbal. To me it was the worst experience ever. PLEASE do not SIGN a rental condition which is just explained to you verbally BEWARE of That. The worst customer service experience ever. I would never treat someone like he treated me!!!!!

I just want to share our experience with this rental company. Earlier this year we were approved with them for a couple places, and most recently we reached out again for an apartment we were really interested in and it was urgent we find an apartment! Everything seemed to be going fine until they asked for our current landlord’s number for a reference.

We’ve always paid our rent on time and have taken care of the place, so we didn’t expect any issues. But our landlord gave a bad reference, even though he’s the one who told us we could move out… the house has had mold, air quality problems, and other issues that weren’t being properly fixed.

After we found out we were denied, we called him and he admitted he “messed up” and called the company back to correct what he said. But even after that, Century 21 still denied us.

It was disappointing because we had a good history with this company before, and they didn’t take the time to hear our side or look at the full picture. Just want others to be aware that sometimes it’s not about your track record it’s about who makes the call.

I always loved Century 21 and have been with them for years, Tanja was especially wonderful! The pictures are of how I left my apartment when I moved out and they still argued that I owed them money over two small screw holes and made me wait over a month for my deposit back over nothing. So greedy and left me with really bad feelings for Century 21, I will never go with them again based off this experience and have gone with Coldwell to buy my first house instead of Century 21. Be prepared to have a claim filed on your deposit for the smallest things.

Serge at century 21 is an honest realtor super accommodating and great to work with. He helped us search for the right property for a year. He's not high pressure and had the knowledge to help us identify issues in a property.
If you want a realtor that actually has values and isn't looking just to only make a sale, he cares about his clients and it shows. Highly recommend!
