Fantastic summer morning of salmon fishing! Laurel put us on the fish early, and we caught 9 in total, keeping 2 chinook, and one coho. The boat is superbly set up, and Laurel is a pro. Friendly, and very knowledgeable. Highly recommended! Humpback whales gave us a show, too!

Laurel is an absolute gem! His professionalism, expertise and awesome company make his trips the incredible experience that they are!! His boat is amazing, he takes utter pride in its upkeep and that is evident. It was my first time sea fishing and I couldn't have asked for more. Honestly. My dad and I went on an afternoon fishing trip in August 2023, and I highly recommend Absolute Sport Fishing to anyone looking to book a trip. Laurel was great with us beginners, giving us a quick lesson on what to do beforehand, and he clearly knows the waters around Campbell River. We lucked into great weather, and he took us to a spot not far away where we got lots of bites. We ended up taking home three different kinds of salmon (including the huge Chinook in the pictures that was almost too big to keep) and two lingcod over the course of a few hours. My dad and I had a great time!

Hi there,

We were fishing with laurel on sep.16.2021.
His Boat is in best condition, very clean and comfortable. Laurel is a funny guy, with a big knowledge about salmon fishing. My Girlfriend (non fisher) was with us, and could take some great photos and feel very safe on his boat. At last, laurel had a special for her. After cleaning the salmons, she could feed the seals with the gills.

It was a great experience, when its possible , i will be back as soon as possible.

Out on Saturday and once again with Absolute Sportfishing, something that’s becoming a yearly get together. We just had a blast. Laurel is funny, knowledgeable, experienced, a damned good guide, and a lucky fisherman.
Top of the line equipment, beautiful boat.
Would highly recommend him to anyone looking to go fishing in the waters around Campbell River!
