Arrived at and departed from this airport recently. Luggage came out quick, as is expected with these smaller airports. Getting through security was quick as well on the way out. There's ample seating and desk workspaces. The food and drink options might as well be non-existent, expect convenience store food.

Ontario's 5th busiest airport is a primary hub for access to North Western Ontario as well as a gateway from South, East & West flights. Air Canada, Porter, West Jet, Bearskin and Wasaya are a few of the regular air services available. Thunder Bay Airport accommodates many traveller's to fly in resorts and First Nation's Reserves. Rental car companies are onsite. It is always recommended to check airport information for schedules prior to arrival or departure. Weather can change quickly in this region.

Airport functions well enough but for the love of G-d can they not open the food and shop on weekends and holidays. If your airline is delayed, what then? And, bring back Tim's!

Small airport, super efficient and everyone was friendly. The cards to carry you luggage are free (the states it's $5us). Food and gates up stairs luggage and check in on the first floor. Everything was super easy to find ,signage was proper and everything worked. Not crowded and crazy like most big airports. I like ten airport and the area. The fishing was great and in August the weather was phenomenal.

Very friendly staff. Even when our flight was canceled due to weather, the staff was courteous and as helpful as they could be given the amount of upset passengers they had to deal with. Small, quaint airport with many different charters available in addition to commercial airlines like Westjet, Air Canada, Porter, Bearskin and others. Since it's small, you don't have to be there 2 hours before boarding.

Here I sit, waiting for another flight delay. 7 pm at night, hundreds of people in the airport, gift shop closed, no where to sit down for a proper meal, and when the inevitable cancelation comes, I will have paid for parking 3 times today.

The playground on the second floor next to the departure lounge did attract my kids. They go there to see their grandmother off but just forgot because of this play ground. The parking fee is acceptable. There are some car rental agents that you can take car right after landing, and their finish task at 1am ( Enterprise , I believe). There is also a public water tap next to these car rental.
