We were unintentional visitors. We found the park driving into Pictou and thought we should stop for a picnic. The Africentric display was a HUGE unexpected bonus. It clearly and (somehow) without emotion covered the horrific entry of Black people into North America. Sad, and true, piece of Canadian history. Well done.

Very well kept small park with a kiosk that has a pictoral display of the little known history of Black immigration, voluntary and otherwise, into Pictou County, Nova Scotia. The park has benches and picnic tables, no other services available. Well suited for a quick stop with car, trailer, or RV for some education and reflection.

A beautiful, safe, park. It tends to get the best morning light, if you like sunrises, this is a beautiful green space to view it from. While you’re there, take in the cultural information that is directly inside and surrounding the main structure.

Small "park". Love that they are showing love to our African canadian people in Pictou County, Nova Scotia. But for the most part, this place is small and not worth the stop. 3 stars for being a small respect for our "african" brothers and sisters. The pyramid is representative of the cohesion of harmonies.

I remember the community coming together to build this park when I was a kid. The pyramid was and still is a huge part of the Ward 1 community. Where else in NS can you say "meet me at the pyramid"?

This is such a big part of the horrible history of humanity and Canada.
