I have observed that some teachers appear to lack patience in the learning process, particularly when students struggle to grasp concepts at the same pace as their peers. This approach can sometimes create an environment where slower learners feel undervalued or dismissed, as though their challenges reflect a lack of ability. There seems to be a lack of understanding that each student learns at their own pace, and that not everyone is on the same journey. A more patient, individualized approach could help foster a more inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students. But it seems as though if you don’t understand it, then they treat you like you’re stupid.
The principal of this school seems to dismiss genuine emotional concerns, often responding in a way that feels more like shaming than offering support. There is a noticeable lack of empathy for students who are struggling, and those who express feelings or opinions that don’t align with the school’s perspective may feel invalidated. If you're feeling overwhelmed or on the verge of burnout, the response is often less about understanding and more about minimizing the issue, with comments such as, 'Life is hard, but you have to deal with it.'

Now sports, dear old sports. Participation in sports at this school seems to be met with little understanding when it comes to personal boundaries or physical limitations. Missing even a single practice, dealing with cramps, or simply not feeling up to attending can lead to being guilt tripped and shamed for it, as though it’s entirely the student’s fault. If a student expresses the need for a break or doesn’t wish to participate, it is often met with disappointment or frustration from the coaches, making it feel as though their personal needs are secondary to the team's expectations

Now, every few years, the school organizes a play, and good God is it usually horrible. But the experience often feels more like an obligation than an opportunity. Students are required to participate, regardless of personal preferences or concerns such as stage fright. If you express any hesitation or reluctance, it’s not given consideration, and participation is essentially mandatory.
Additionally, while the school generates a significant amount of funding, there seems to be a lack of investment in basic improvements. For instance, the current chairs used during performances are extremely uncomfortable and have likely been in use for over 15 years. Moreover, the school frequently asks parents to 'borrow' items for events that could easily be purchased on their own, which feels like a cost-saving measure at the expense of the school community. A more thoughtful approach to both student choice and facility upgrades would greatly improve the overall experience.

Being new to Agassiz, we were so thankful for the community that we were able to connect with when our son joined Preschool at Agassiz Christian! He is now in Kindergarten and our middle is in 3 year old Preschool, and they both love it! The teachers are phenomenal and care so much about their students. 3 year old Preschool has been such a great opportunity to make friends and learn valuable social skills. The Kindergarten program is play-based and follows individual student needs and interests. My son has enjoyed Library, Field Trips (some with the whole student population!), singing in the school choir and musical, outdoor learning, and learning about Indigenous culture and language. I have been so amazed with the sense of camaraderie among students and how they teach students to live out their faith. Would highly recommend sending your kids to this fantastic Christian School in the Fraser Valley!

We have been so happy with our experience sending our children to Agassiz Christian Preschool. Mrs. Jen has been amazing and has gone the extra mile to ensure that our two boys felt safe, comfortable and loved while at school. She worked with us to ensure their needs were being met and communicated their progress through photos, stories and fun art projects. We will definitely cherish all of our preschool memories. Thank you, Mrs. Jen!

Agassiz Christian school has been such a blessing to our family! Starting with my eldest daughter in preschool, and now finishing Kindergarten we have loved getting to know the staff, and many of the other families in our community. We are looking forward to our youngest being able to go to ACS as well, and we feel so fortunate to have this incredible school supporting us as we raise our daughters. We are grateful for the small, intimate learning environment, where we know our children are being cared for, supported, and encouraged in not only their educational development, but their personal and spiritual growth as well. Agassiz Christian School; you are a local gem, and we are so grateful for you!

Agassiz Christian is an amazing school! My family moved to town 6 months ago and the school’s community has been so warm and welcoming. Having my kids involved in a school near home has been great for being able to get involved. I have children in both the elementary and preschool grade level and have been more than happy with all the staff - they really care about all the kids and their educational and spiritual journey.

We feel so fortunate to be part of the Agassiz Christian School community. We recently joined the elementary school and have been absolutely blown away! Our son is in the 4th grade and, in addition to the exceptionally strong curriculum program, he also participates in coding and robotics, typing, music, French and daily PE, just to name a few. The small class sizes allow for wonderful support for each student and the staff are second to none. It genuinely feels like a big family and there is always something fun and educational going on. Our son is thriving academically and socially, we feel blessed to have such a wonderful local learning environment for him.
