Our recent adventure on August,15 to Lake O’Hara with Alpine Air Adventures was nothing short of unforgettable. We had the privilege of hiking part of the Alpine Circuit with our guide, Mitch, and it truly exceeded every expectation we had.

From the very beginning, Mitch made the experience feel comfortable and exciting. He was welcoming, approachable, and easy to talk to, which instantly put us at ease. Throughout the hike, he shared fascinating stories and bits of history about the surrounding lakes and mountains. Having that background really deepened our appreciation for the incredible landscape around us.
Lake O’Hara itself is breathtaking, and with Mitch’s guidance we were able to see nearly every lake in the area. Each turn in the trail revealed a new view that was more spectacular than the last—turquoise lakes, dramatic peaks, and sweeping alpine meadows. It was one of those rare experiences where you’re constantly in awe of nature’s beauty.

What stood out most was how caring and attentive Mitch was during the entire day. He made sure we were comfortable, kept the pace enjoyable, and created an atmosphere where we could fully soak in the scenery without worry. His balance of professionalism and friendliness made the hike feel like we were exploring with a knowledgeable friend rather than just a guide.

This trip gave us memories that will stay with us forever. Lake O’Hara is already such a special place, but doing it with Alpine Air Adventures—and especially with Mitch—turned it into a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

We couldn’t recommend Mitch and Alpine Air Adventures more highly. If Lake O’Hara is on your list (and it should be!), this is the way to do it.

Visited Banff in July with my 9 yr old son to go camping. Our guide Matt reached out a few days ahead to ask what we had in mind. There was rainy weather so he was eager to be flexible to move to morning which looked better. Close to our scheduled time to meet it was pouring and he suggested let's wait an hour and hope it clears. It cleared and we had a nice long window of good weather even a long stretch of sun. Matt let us choose from a couple of ideas he had... our favorite was a multi-pitch route on the Runderhorn. Again, we needed some flexibility to first make sure no climbers were already there above us... and... great continued luck (!!)... noone else was ahead of us. The Runderhorn multi-pitch idea was perfect and we had a great time. I think it was scheduled for half a day, but with the weather challenges I believe we went much longer. Plenty challenging for what we hoped for with some fantastic pictures too. It was also great to have a guide for just the 2 of us rather than being in a large group...very customized to what we wanted to do. Our entire trip was great, but this outing was by far the highlight. Highly recommend Alpine Air Adventures and sure hope we get to come out again. Thank you again Matt and keep up the great work!

Sean, our guide, took us on the most incredible journey— full of support, good conversation, laughter, hiking, and rock climbing… all while making us feel completely safe and encouraged. It was honestly a dream!

He was also completely laid-back and flexible and did an amazing job of keeping us on track with timing, safety, refueling, resting, etc.

Can’t wait to work with Alpine Air Adventures again and will for sure want to be guided again by Sean!!!

I had such a wonderful experience hiking with Jacob from AAA. My first time exploring Banff and Jasper. This hiking trip has left me a life-time memory. Each day we did a hike with different terrains but all with amazing views of lakes, alpine mountains and glaciers. Thank you for a wonderful tour and great service by Jacob.

My guide Sean took me up an amazing route on Tunnel Mountain, he was friendly, helpful, professional and full of good chat whilst making sure I was confident and safe the entire time. It was an amazing experience and I absolutely loved it, I would absolutely recommend Apline Air Adventures to anyone. All the other staff in the office were lovely too and everyone was so helpful and welcoming! Thanks again Sean for a great day!

Top notch experience with Alpine Air Adventures. Jeff was very responsive to emails and gave us all our options and went above and beyond what I would expect from an owner to make a lifetime goal of ours a reality... climbing the Grand Sentinel. He was realistic with the logistical challenges of pulling this off but was very willing to do what it took to make the trip happen for us.

Sean was as good of a guide as we could ask for; patient, on time, responsive to messages, and great with advice and flexibility on changing the trip to a day where we had much better weather than originally scheduled. He was also just fun to be out there with and kept a positive and supportive attitude the entire time.
Can't recommend this company and Sean enough!

We had such a wonderful experience with Alpine Air! We took the five day hiking trip. Our guide, Jacob was highly knowledgeable, giving us information about history, hiking, plants, and local suggestions. He was very patient and carefully planned the hikes each day. Each day was absolutely perfect! It was, without a doubt, one of the best guided hike experiences we have ever taken. We highly recommend this company! Can’t wait to return for a different adventure in the future.
