held my 30th birthday party on August 16th and hired Balloon Malloon to decorate. To this day, the experience still bothers me, which is why I’m leaving this review now.
From the start, I knew exactly what I wanted and even created a mock-up, which I sent to them. Initially, they were enthusiastic and reassured me that they could execute my vision. I specifically requested an LED sign, but they didn’t inform me until very close to the event date that they wouldn’t be able to source it—leaving me with no time to arrange it myself.
The venue gave me a start time of 1:00pm. I even asked a friend to be there at 1:00pm to oversee the setup and make sure everything ran smoothly. However, on the day of the event, I was shocked to receive a message that Balloon Malloon had arrived and started setting up at 9:30am. This led the venue host to attempt to charge me an additional $150 for early setup. When I contacted Balloon Malloon, I was told they had another event and were “trying to accommodate me.”
I asked for photos of the setup throughout the day, but they insisted on keeping it a “surprise” because they were confident I would love it. When my caterers arrived at 1:40pm, we video-called and I finally saw the setup. I wanted to cry—it looked nothing like the mock-up I had sent. I paid $1,400 for something that looked cheap and poorly done. I was embarrassed in front of my guests.
When I confronted them, they made excuses, claiming the venue wouldn’t allow balloons, sparklers, or confetti. I later proved this was false by sending them videos from the venue’s own page showing those exact things. They eventually returned to add balloons to the pool and to fix a broken backdrop that had collapsed from the wind.
To make matters worse, during this time they helped themselves to one of the water cases someone had ordered for my event—without asking first—and I was told they were also smoking at the venue. Both are extremely unprofessional and inappropriate.
Overall, I deeply regret booking with Balloon Malloon. They completely failed to deliver what was promised, were dishonest about what was possible, and their behaviour on the day of my event was unacceptable. They ruined the vision I had for my 30th birthday. I’ve attached photos of my original mock-up compared to what was actually delivered so you can judge for yourself.

I had great pleasure working with Balloon Maloon! By far they have done 2 events for me.. For my baby shower I randomly connected with them and the decor turned out so well I just knew I had to work with them for my babys 1st bday as well..They made effort to piece together our idea and it did turn out beautifully !! I would definately recommend them..

I can’t recommend Sara and her Team enough. They understood our vision for the event and made it a reality. Their attention to detail and commitment with their clients is just great, they helped work with our budget which is not something you see often. Our event looked amazing and all guests kept on praising how beautiful the decor was. From a backdrop, to welcome signs and centerpieces, they have what you are looking for!

I hired Balloon Malloon for my daughter’s first birthday. I was so stressed out I couldn’t figure out what would look nice I had a theme and colours all I had to do was tell her that and she made everything come to reality. It was amazing. Everyone complimented on how great it looked. I loved the balloon at the backdrop. I loved the cake stand dessert cart.. she even added extra balloons for the kids to play with . Everything was just so great she arrived on time for the set up, everything was done clean completed and then she came back for the close up, everything was so clean And it’s a bonus that she was extremely friendly. Everything was just so great. All the stress was removed and honestly I can see it turned out so perfect. I will definitely definitely hire her for any other event that I have. Bonus her prices were amazing’

The Balloon Malloon team was an absolute pleasure to work with for my baby shower! The experience was smooth from the get go. Their website is well laid out which makes it really easy to put a package together. Sara really knew how to bring my vision to life after sharing only a few inspiration photos. On the day of the event, they were not only punctual but early! Super fast and efficient. I would 1000% recommend their services.
