Felt welcome from the outset. Bev is a great host, making sure we had everything we needed. The property is lovely, a short drive out of Gravenhurst in a beautiful quiet area. We saw the Northern Lights while we were there, standing outside in their garden. Bed is comfy and bathroom was huge. A great base to explore the Muskoka region.

We go up to see the leaves every fall and have been staying at Bear & Butterfly for several years now. It is by far the best B&B we have ever stayed at - has everything we could want, and now we look forward to spending time with Bev and John as much as we look forward to seeing the fall colours. The Beverley and Jon at The Bear and Butterfly were exceptional. Their warm hospitality and attention to detail made me feel incredibly welcome and at home. They were always available to offer recommendations and ensure that my stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

One of the highlights of my stay was the nearby local lakes. Their beauty was absolutely stunning, offering crystal-clear waters and scenic views that were perfect for leisurely walks and peaceful reflection.

Additionally, the bed and breakfast’s close proximity to town was a huge plus. It was convenient to explore local shops, restaurants, and attractions while still being able to return to the calm and quiet of the bed and breakfast.

Overall, The Bear and Butterfly Bed and Breakfast provided a perfect blend of natural beauty, exceptional service, and convenient location. It’s an ideal retreat for anyone looking to escape and find peace in a stunning setting. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a relaxing getaway.

Our recent stay at the Bear and Butterfly Bed and Breakfast was very disappointing. We had booked a two-night stay but decided to leave after just one night. During check-in, we asked the owner where we could smoke, as we knew it was a non-smoking property. The owner told us we could only smoke outside, so we made sure to comply with this rule and only smoked outside the property. However, the next morning, the owner knocked loudly at our door and falsely accused us of smoking in the room. Although there were smoking supplies in the room, they were unused. Due to the owner's behaviour, we felt unwelcome at the property and made the decision to check out. We intended to settle the bill for the one night we stayed, but the property owner mentioned that she was unable to modify the reservation because it was made through a third party (Booking.com). According to the property's policy, all modifications and cancellations are to be handled through the Booking.com platform. However, Booking.com requires the property's consent for any modifications to the reservation, making it appear that the property has control over the refund process. I paid the full amount with the understanding that I could resolve any issues through Booking.com, but this has proven to be misleading and dishonest.

Please take a look behind the bed, it’s filthy and needs a proper spring clean. Next time you know that you’re having bed and breakfast guests, please do a shop instead of telling us you didn’t have time and serving us a smoothie for breakfast. Where were our wild blue berry pancakes?! If you’re providing a bed and breakfast service, the bed part only accounts for 50%.

Such a lovely stay at the bear and butterfly! A gorgeous view, nice big room and comfy bed my partner and I shared.|The host was so accommodating, friendly and great communication. we enjoyed a delicious home cooked breakfast. |She also provided us with info on things going on that weekend to check out.|Also to note, I really loved how security conscious the host was.

My wife and I loved our time at The Bear and Butterfly B&B. In a country backdrop only 5 minutes from downtown, there is a comfortable and relaxing tone felt throughout. Beverly was a first rate host, very personable, professional, and knowledgeable about the area. Loved the muskoka room and hot tub! Breakfast was superb, even having several of our Hostess' own home made delights. It was a mini getaway to celebrate my wife's bday and it was a memorable one thanks to Beverly and the Bear & Butterly!

My husband and I spent a night at this Bed and Breakfast. Our hosts were very welcoming and friendly. They gave us a few good suggestions of activities in Gravenhurst and Muskoka Lakes, which we did follow and had a marvelous time. ||The Bed and Breakfast is a comfortable home. Even though we were in the smaller bedroom, our room was spacious, cozy and very clean. A big breakfast was part of the deal, yummy blueberry pancakes, fresh fruits, fresh orange juice and of course the coffee to wake us up.||We would definitely go back to this B n B. Very convenient location, 6 minutes drive from downtown.
