I have traveled quite a bit along the transcanada highway and have to say this was by far the best hotel/motel I've stayed in. Staff was really friendly, welcoming and helpful. Rooms are large, modern and clean . Great TV set up with smart TV to log into your favorite streaming service. Very low price for what you get. I also felt really safe and secure, which is not always the case when on the road in a strange town. I never leave reviews but these guys were so top notch, I had to.

This is a nice place. The rooms are a decent size and very clean. The staff are friendly. There are no coffee pots or cups in the rooms but I don’t mind as I worry about the cleanliness of them and never use them anyway. You can get coffee and water and cookies in the lobby all day. The beds are very comfortable. I would stay here again.

Stayed here for one night, the staff were pleasant and efficient. The room was spacious and clean, perhaps a bit sparse. Ie no counter in the bathroom for toiletries. Had a cool full-size retro fridge and a gas fireplace which were fun features. Easy access and super quiet

What a find. It was just getting dark and my boyfriend and I were in need of lodging on our way to Thunder Bay. The Big Bird Inn was welcoming when we noticed two important words, "open" and "vacancy." The helpful front desk agent put us in a room on the second floor just left of the stairway. It was a cozy and comfortable room. The lobby was quite nice, an added bonus was complimentary coffee, tea, and cookies. There was also a bar area, the bar was closed but I enjoyed sitting at one of the tables and sipping on tea and eating a few cookies before going to bed. The Big Bird Inn is a recommended stay when in Wawa, it's a well run place in a good location with close proximity to a supermarket, restaurants, and a wonderful lake for swimming. Good rates for the quality and location. Wawa is a lovely little town and staying at the Big Bird Inn was pleasant experience.

My day two of driving across transCanada highway came with a bit of surprise when sudden snowfall and icy driving conditions compelled me to cut short my travel and stay in Wawa. The second bit of surprise was this great motel I decided to stop by and check for availability on Oct 31st. I'm glad I made the right choice. The young lady at the front desk from Tarn Taran was super polite, humble, courteous, and helpful. The room was super spacious with a refrigerator, microwave, cozy bed and chair. My car had a lot of personal belongings, CCTV secured parking lot and all over the motel made me felt so comfortable with my stay. The lady showed me they have a CCTV monitoring screen right in front of them and it is continuously monitored, even at night. The motel also has coffee, cookies, drinks, and a Subway outlet open till 12 pm right next to them just in case you're looking for meals or beverages. I would highly recommend staying here based on my experience of the front desk lady, room facilities, security, and food options. Go for it.

With lots of motels in town to choose from settled on this one. It was exactly what we needed. Clean rooms, hot shower, and lots of water pressure. The retro full-size fridge was great to have, lots of room to store all our travel food. There is also microwave in the room. We were close to everything. Service was pleasant and efficient. Coffee and cookies in the lobby, which is a nice touch. Bed was comfy, and we slept well.

Stayed here after a long day of driving. Friendly staff, clean room, comfortable bed and pet-friendly. Could hear other doors opening and closing in the hall. Nice to be able to make a tea in the morning before heading off.

A last minute booking for the jacuzzi suite. The room was clean, ready early, and the bed comfortable. The jacuzzi had one broken knob but they were aware of the damage. The hotel was clean and smelt nice. The staff were friendly and very helpful.
