Just popping in here to say that our review of just a few years ago still stands strong ||We started coming in 2011 and have never been disappointed. The Beachhouse has been our go-to cottage for the last few years and we love it but other cottages we've stayed in are also wonderful. Our 2-bedroom has all basic necessities for our family of 5 (1 fur family member included).||The Langs have done a wonderful job running the resort for the last 10 years, continuously improving the property, the cottages, and ensuring all guests are happy.|We just love them all! Happy 10th Anniversary!||I'm sitting on the deck here on our last night, just hating that we must leave tomorrow. All these years and it is STILL easy to love but very difficult to leave.

We have been going to this resort every year for the last 16 years. Every year we are not disappointed. We always have a warm welcome from Nigel, Kent, Dianne and Nick. They are always so friendly and quick to help. The views are fantastic and the cottage (Lakeview) is cosy with an amazing view of the lake from the giant window in the living room. The kitchen is fully equipped and they have a large front deck. . We feel very much at home there and are looking forward to our next visit. As their sign says, 'Easy to get to, difficult to leave."

This resort is amazing! The cottage was clean, fully equipped and spacious.
There is limited storage, but all cottages tend to have this. Full size fridge and kitchen, stove with oven, nice bathroom and 2 good bedrooms. The cottages all have an outside picnic table and depending on the cottage additional outdoor seating. The cottage we stayed at was on the water with full lake views and amazing sunsets. The resort is quiet, kids and dog friendly. The owners take pride in their property and it shows. We had a wonderful week!

We just got back from a great week at Birch Bend Cottage Resort and we already miss it and can't wait to return next year or maybe for a weekend in the fall, resort is beautiful, the owners are amazing, very friendly and very hard working, always taking care of the well maintained grounds, everywhere flowers, Cottage was newly renovated and well renovated and very cozy. Locations close to shopping for whatever you forget to bring and fishing 🎣 very good, my husband caught lots of bass.

From the moment we arrived at Birch bend, it was a wonderful experience. The hosts were friendly, the cottages were clean and the kids were happy!
We had a wonderful relaxing experience at birch bend and have already booked for next year.
There’s so much to do here, from kayaking, canoeing, fishing, swimming, or just simply reading on a Muskoka chair on the lake. They take the kids tubing on Tuesdays, and have many outside games to offer
such as bocce and corn hole, you won’t get bored here!
The sunsets on the lake are breathtaking and the star gazing by the fire is amazing!
Do yourself a favour and check this place out for your next vacation!

My favourite cottage getaway! I come here for a week every year and it always feels like home. There’s plenty of space for outdoor games, and it’s perfect if you have a dog. Kent, Dany, Nigel, and Nick are incredible hosts — warm, welcoming, and always going above and beyond. I’ll keep coming back, year after year.

We stayed here about 12 years ago and had a wonderful experience—the owners at the time were warm and welcoming. Based on that, we decided to return. Unfortunately, this was a major mistake. The ownership has changed (they've apparently been running the place for about 10 years now), and our recent experience was vastly different.

During our stay, we invited our daughter to visit for the day, something the website explicitly states is allowed for a fee (a screenshot of this policy is attached).

Despite following the rules, the female owner approached us in a very aggressive and inappropriate manner, shouting across the property and insisting we were over the occupancy limit.

There were four of us staying overnight, plus our daughter who was visiting during the day—within the permitted limit. Despite our efforts to remain calm and respectful, the situation escalated, and soon her husband and two sons joined her, demanding we leave immediately.

We agreed to leave, provided our payment was refunded. While our stay was refunded, our deposit was withheld.

We later learned from a regular guest that the owner had recently received upsetting personal news, which may explain the emotional state—but it does not excuse the way we were treated.

This experience was deeply disappointing and unsettling. While the resort may have loyal regulars, our encounter left us feeling unwelcome and mistreated. I recommend future guests read through recent reviews (esp on Facebook) carefully before booking.

EDIT - of course the owners are going to say we didn’t attend their resort to make it sound like we are liars. We did in fact attend this resort, and this happened. The screenshot I provided comes right from their website.

The owners Dianne and Kent are absolutely fabulous. The resort itself is so calming and relaxing. My husband Troy and I have been here two times now and we absolutely love it. Grounds are beautiful....cottages are great and the views are incredibly stunning. Not to mention the great fishing.Thank you both for such a wonderful getaway!! SEE YOU NEXT YEAR 🤗
